Very true.
I thought that might change with as many older players that we have

Damn. Did we really lose today.

Yep, it was really bad. Couldn’t buy a basket.

That was app states biggest home game in 30 years. And we couldn’t shoot. Not that surprising of a loss tbh, the home team and crowd were lit

Hopefully they never checked in to the game today and snap out of it.

Yeah I don’t see us cracking the top 25 after that one. Beat Indiana next Saturday and maybe they’ll throw us in the mix

I thought Denver Jones was going to be a good player for us. He's been disappointing so far.
It's going to be a long year unless we turn this awful shooting around. We went 3 for 27 from three today.

App State was up for this game big time. They played their hearts out and got hot on those threes and free throws. It was a big deal for them.
3 out of 27 three attempts for Auburn!!! What the hell!

2-16 vs. VaTech in the last game to go with 24-36 FT shooting.
Two games in a row with worse damn shooting than last year.

Turns out Baylor just isn’t very good defensively and he kinda feasted on it
Bruce said in his post game presser that early in the season teams didn’t have tape on each other and now they do and he said that teams are figuring out how to pressure Aden on the perimeter and they’ve got to adjust. He’s really hit the skids the last couple games for sure.

He’s my biggest concern right now. He’s better than he has been playing, but we need him to be A LOT better than he has been playing and I’m just not sure

From Justin Ferguson on Twitter:
11-67. Jesus Christ, I can shoot better than that

Auburn's 3-point shooting over the first four games of the season: 37-95 (38.9%)

shooting at a top-40 pace early in the season but now having a hard time finding anything from deep

How come when these so called shooters get to Auburn they regress? This is very worrisome.

Teams are playing Auburn to guard the 3 now that they know they can hit the open shot. The adjustment is to either hit the tougher 3 or start improving at driving the ball.
For Aden I think it’s just a mental thing right now. He just needs to see a few go in again. He wasn’t going to shoot as well as he started the season (+50%) but he’s got the yips currently because teams are doing everything they can to play him tight.

That game was tough to watch. We get more fouls in 2 minutes than we hit 3s in the entire game.

Okay, opinion time and yes I'm sure it's too early in the season for this but anyway...how many wins does it take for a team to get to the dance? For most circumstances, I'm always thinking 19 is borderline and 20 is safe. Looking ahead, what does the remainder of the schedule hold? I was initially thinking as the season got underway, win 10 out of conf, win 10 in conf. I didn't think that was too much of an ask but I'm not sure they pull 10 out of conf. But I also might be putting too much stock in the strength of the conf. SEC just seems to be getting better each year with very few "gimmie" games like their use to be. I still like this team and if they can get out of this shooting funk, they can be a top 20 team but the FT shooting and 3's have got to improve from the last two games.
