I heard it was a compliance issue related to unauthorized vehicular acquisition.

The talk is that the compliance department basically went out their way to report an impermissible benefit that happened years ago (before NIL). Pretty shite situation for Moultry if his NCAA career ends on that basis.

Pretty sure we got hall monitors of the year named Richard (Dick) in compliance.

Maybe so, but if Auburn found it out, then someone else probably does too. It could be Auburn is trying to head off the issue from getting worse. Someone else could have been sitting on it, and waiting for the right time to put it out to the media.

The way I've heard it talked about is that the NCAA wasn't snooping around or anything, and that they're basically nutless now after the NIL stuff passed anyway. Moultry had what, 8-9 games left in his career? This is being described as grossly unnecessary over-compliance. Apparently our compliance department is also dragging us behind in the whole NIL race, whereas schools like Bama are obviously going balls-to-the-wall.

You know as well as I do though, uat gets to play by their own rules. I can't blame the Auburn compliance people for being paranoid.

Or stand up to the ncaa and not take any lumps at all? Seems to work well for other programs.

Exactly. This is why I made the comment earlier I think we need to make some major changes in the AD if we want to have top notch sports programs.

I have lived through one undefeated season that was meaningless. I don't care to go through that again.

Actually there were 2. lol.

don't forget 2004, when we never got a chance to play for a NC either, even without probation.

Is that even illegal? We are literally paying players now.

I guess our compliance department says it is. Sounds like he’s off the team.

FFS, Rent Richardson’s family got to stay in a multimillion dollar home, Kirkpatrick’s mom gets a 6 figure salary to be a secretary, etc. But Moultry is gone for borrowing a car. :I
