That’s a lot of ifs when we have someone that’s done it already even if it’s been a limited showing.

It sucks but we’ll recover nicely, just wait.. I think Powell is a hell of a player and I wish him well wherever he goes. He is an elite shooter. I hope he fully recovers and has the opportunity to play the game he loves.
This transfer leaves us with 1 spot available on next year’s roster, following the transfer of Turbo to USA.
Kessler, a grad transfer PG or Scoot reclassify? Which would you rather have?

Scoot reclassify easily.

I just hope that's not at another SEC school. Especially Kentucky, or God forbid a certain other SEC that's experienced some recent success.

As much as I wanted Kessler out of HS, PG is definitely the bigger need. It depends on who the grad transfer PG was really, but if Sharife stays then having him and Scoot at the same time would be pretty dynamic

Trey Alexander can be just as good in the same role as Powell
Powell was a 44% 3pt shooter from a position he’d never played as a freshman. Let’s slow our role on putting those expectations on Trey.

Rumor is related to Auburn not giving him a medical release.
This is the only thing that makes logical sense here. That’s how we got Jamel Dean from OSU in football

Wherever he goes I wish him luck. I enjoyed watching him play in the limited time he had. Kid can flat out shoot. Wish he woulda stayed but never know how these 18 yr old kids can feel away from home. I had 2 out of 6 roommates my 3 years at auburn leave because they were “homesick”. It happens

Both of Will Muschamp’s CB recruits are playing and starting in the NFL. On the Super Bowl Champs.

So we've got...
1. homesick...it's not easy for mama to feed you chicken soup (or whatever you do for a concussion) from 2 states away. Makes sense if he was confined to a dark room for months he probably hates this place.
2. Impending NCAA hammer - he's gettin out while he still can.
3. Not cleared medically. He wants to play now, but it's apparently his 2nd major concussion...how durable is he moving forward?
4. Potential tampering by other programs - Louisville or UK?
We're pretty sure it's a combination of 1 or 2 of these 4 possibilities. Am I missing one?

Hopefully not #2. I don't think that's the case but I also never in a million years thought we would have to self-impose a tourney ban over the Person stuff. This is not a just world.

I heard JBoy on a local sports talk show, and his 'source(s)' told him that Powell's leaving had something to do with who was coming in at guard next year and that Sharife would be coming back, and that Powell didn't like 'NOT' being the top dog at guard next year.
That's a new one to me, and seems even farther from the actual truth....

King on @247 — someone close to the program reminded him, unsolicited, that Powell attended 3 high schools.
Also said they weren’t surprised. I don’t know.
I’m pretty surprised still
This. And he's played short of one full season of basketball in 3 years.

AA7 says we can’t watch Trey Alexander’s HS highlights until he’s played more games at Auburn than Powell
Not my rule, just passing it along

When Trey comes in and only shoots 43% from 3 I'm going to rub it all in your faces

No offense to Jboy but Powell isn't scared of competition and Rife ain't coming back.
Posted on 3/10/21 at 4:59 pm to AUtigR24
Not surprising but Louisville, Kentucky, Memphis, and other big schools are already after him.

So are we going to have a true PG next season?
