Is Powell hurt/sick? He’s not on the bench.

A&Ms team and program are bad

Can’t drop games like that. Arky is one thing, this was just self inflicted

Not sure. He was really struggling while he was in. Definitely was not his usual self.

Hate we couldn’t pull off the comeback but glad to see the guys fight back. You can’t win on the road playing a half like the first half. Hope they learn from this and focus on getting better.

The Arky loss was worse than this one. Neither are bad. Just gonna be tough in the league this year without experience or a true pg. Would love to scrape out close to a .500 record and spoil some bubble teams

NCAA messing with Cooper has really hurt this team...he was the only one we couldn't afford to lose. I do wonder if Powell is ok. He hit the floor hard late 1st half and was noticeably holding his head.

I don’t mind a loss to Arky. Good experience losing to a good team and having to fight to keep it from getting truly out of hand.

I do like the fight here and being on the road matters some (obviously less this year).

Apparently Powell suffered a head injury late in the first half. Explains why we didn’t see him.

Now glad that I didn't see the game. My blood pressure remained normal this afternoon...hope we are able to play Cooper soon. The NCAA should be able to rule on this quicker than they have or if they can't meet a certain time frame then the player should win. They have got to have an SLA because if they don't like a team they can drag crap out which not only hurts the team but is also detrimental to the players that they affect. I wish that one of these affected students or schools would sue the NCAA over this as that would or could force an SLA on these decisions and not make it arbitrary.

Powell is really struggling with the speed in conference. The bigs are playing to soft inside. Flanigan is the only guy with experience really on the court. Not an excuse. I do agree just on talent alone we should not be playing as bad as we did in the first half. You can tell the staff had been working on the defense because the offense looked like they didn’t know what to do at first. But the defense has still got to get better. I’m not worried about the offense it will come with experience. The defense needs to be mastered by the end of the year. This was a winnable game in my opinion.

Like Pearl said in post game we have 2 problems

1.. no pg therefore lack quickness in backcourt

2. Light in the arse(actually what he said). Meaning we have no power or strength inside.

Too many lean and long armed talk guys.

Have waited almost a decade to watch Auburn players in the NBA again. They got a couple of games in and now are both out for extended periods.

Update on SC from Nathan King at 247.

Sounds like things might be improving a bit (or at least in motion rather than stagnant) for Auburn point guard Sharife Cooper's eligibility situation. The program is actively communicating with the NCAA and has been having regular meetings about Cooper's status. This is the first time we've had any sort of update on Cooper that wasn't simply Bruce Pearl saying, "We're hopeful to hear something soon."

Full quote on the matter from Pearl today: "We're working on it. ... We're meeting about it and having discussions with the eligibility center."

Cooper returned to practice Dec. 21.

Has Pearl been frustrated with how the NCAA has handled things? "Yes. Yes."
