I’ll say it... the remainder of the season falls on how well Purifoy and Mac plays.

Purifoy if he fixes this

With this

Not sure how the formatting will look but I’m illustrating forward upper body lean on his jump shots causing the shot to be flat and front rimming so much and no shooters roll when it’s just a hair off as well. If it doesn’t got straight net it doesn’t go down.

Just my thoughts. I’m no shot doctor but I can see that.

If Purifoy can get back to how he scored in that 4 game stretch where he scored in double figures(ISU(11), OM(13), Ky(11), Ark(10), before he got sick, then we can keep our point totals up, and not have to rely so much on the guards to make it happen.

He's close, as he got 9 the last 2 games, but he still is not consistent in both halves of games.

Anferee..mmm he simply is not getting those easy open looks he had last year..and with the line farther back, I expected his % to drop.
But 0 3's in 9 out of his last 10 games is providing nothing for this offense.
I would rather he get cheap points around the basket and rebound, and shot block like he used to.

Have to disagree, we know what we're getting with those two. They've consistently shown to be worth about 6 to 8 ppg a couple of rebounds and maybe a block or steal.

I'm more interested to see if Samir and Jovon will be studs or duds come tourney time. Usually guards rise to the occasion in march I think Samir will but most worried about Jovon. If he has a 5 point game we gonna be bounced early.

Of course Cambridge is the X factor. If he can give us double digits we can beat anyone

Samir and J’von have been contributing the past 10 games and we are mediocre. Last game Samir went for 25 and j’von 10 assists. Okoro and Wiley are gonna do their things as well10 and 10 for Wiley and 10-14 and 5 for Okoro. So hmmm.. to get back in the winning ways where do you get extra from. Your 2 seniors

Other than a tv blackout I don't think the NCAA stuff scares these loto pick players. They know it's 1 and done and looking for the quickest least resistant path to get there. That's why Penny and his NBA like staff is appealing. I'm sure they pitching connections to all these top recruits.
If it’s as severe as losing scholarships that could definitely hurt Memphis.

I just don't think they have it in them. Beginning of the season I would of said yes. Right now i'd take Jaylin and Cambridge in their place from a scoring standpoint. Mac is probably better on D though.

They combine to be worth 15 PPG, 9 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 2 BLK

I’m not blaming either Mac or Purifoy in this season. Maybe expecting to much from Purifoy and J’von unable to get Mac or Wiley ok the roll plays. Just either doesn’t see it, can’t pass over it, or doesn’t have faith that the roll will work. Now sure the issue. Granted the floor isn’t as spread as much with our lower shooting percentage from 3 but I’ve seen both 5’s wide open dunks on the roll multiple times this year so it’s a combination of all. Been a super season this year already considering what we thought coming into the season but will be just slightly disappointing if we don’t make the sweet 16. I think we can do it.

You may not be blaming Mclemore and Purifoy but I am. Their taking a backseat from being a feature player to staying a role player is why our abilities are capped this year.

I agree that J’von and Samir has done their part although I wish J’von would drive the lanes looking for either an easy bucket or the open man opened up by his own dribble.

Hooks contradicted himself on 4* F JT Thor yesterday. He previously said Thor could play the 4 or 5 which was passed on here. Yesterday he said he was a 4 all the way, not a 5.

So if we win today and one win in SEC tourney, 26-6.

A top 10 season in our history.

Getting a 25th win would give us 3 straight years of 25 or more wins (for comparison, KU has 15 straight years of 25 or more).

It’s a pretty significant benchmark

A 6’10 4? Gene is going to be disappoint.

Thor is actually a good shooter from everything I’ve read so Gene is probably good with it

ETA: Yep
