I think we'd have to go to Turbo. At least he has practiced at the position. I'm sure we would help him as possible and run more offense through Okoro. Now Lord forbid any injuries but if we had time to prepare I could see okoro getting some run in an emergency situation like we did with Bowers a few years back.

I think we would have to work it out with Turbo. He's probably run the point in practice, and he knows the offense more from that position.
I would actually rather use Okoro bc he handles the ball better and he has a good instinct for getting the ball to open guys. But not knowing the offense from the point would disrupt our offense even more.
So lets just hope JVon works his mistakes out and Samir just cuts down on his...

Basketball Luke serves you well. I no longer think think you’re a one trick pony and that’s a good thing!

Does the close home Vandy win hurt us in the metrics? The Nesmith injury is awful cause they were a decent team when they played us.

I wonder what our Plan C is at point guard if Samir and Jvon are limited in any way in a big game/clutch situation.
I try not to think about it.

I'm more disappointed that we are so limited. I expected Doughty and McCormick to do better than 29% from 3, especially after the start to the season, and Purifoy to add some toughness to his game. Definitely didn't expect Doughty to regress so much as it's gone on.

A couple of us were discussing this last night.
Josh Vitale
@JoshVitale
Did some maths. In 13 games since the start of December:
During the first 10 minutes, Auburn is shooting 32.3% and has a scoring margin of minus-9.
Over the rest of the game, Auburn is shooting 45.2% and has a scoring margin of plus-77.

Kentucky struggling mightily with Vandy at home post-Nesmith injury. Down by 7. People gave us a hard time, even our own fans, about that game, but at least we controlled most of it. They would have shot like that and shocked a few teams if not for the injury. There's no excuses for that without Nesmith.

I’m just glad we have JVon because it could be worse. Josh Wallace or Malcolm Canada putting in 28 minutes a night was hard to watch

Loved Canada, but man was he bad.

Vandy better not beat UK. I don't want them coming here Saturday pissed off. Vandy is up 52-51 with 9 minutes left.

Bruce Pearl: 'I have a high-character' basketball team
quote:
AUBURN, Alabama--Auburn’s 18th win of the season wasn’t the prettiest for Coach Bruce Pearl’s Tigers, but it would difficult to find a better example of an AU basketball team showing the mental toughness to succeed when victory looked improbable.
Less than a minute into the second half the Tigers fell behind 39-20 at The Pavilion on the Ole Miss campus where the Rebels were looking for a third consecutive victory in games vs. the Tigers. However, with Anfernee McLemore leading the way in the second half the Tigers forced the contest into overtime before prevailing 83-82 in double overtime on Tuesday night.
The comeback tied for the third largest in Auburn hoops history. The record was set on Nov. 26, 1995 in San Juan at the championship game of the Puerto Rico Shootout. Coach Cliff Ellis saw his Tigers rally from 22 points down to knock off No. 13 Louisville 82-78.
The second largest comeback came at home on March 2, 2011 when the Tigers bounced back from 20 points down to defeat Ole Miss 82-78.
The victory over Ole Miss on Tuesday that improved the Tigers to 18-2 overall and 5-2 in the SEC matched comebacks at LSU on Jan. 9, 1999 in a 73-70 game and at home vs. Mississippi State in a 65-62 decision on Feb. 12, 2011.
“Adversity does reveal character,” Pearl said. “I have a high-character team. I do. I have got some veterans We didn’t quit.”
Five Auburn players scored in double figures led by 19 off the bench from McLemore, who tied his career-high for scoring and set a personal-record with five made three-pointers.
“We have lost nine out of the last 10 games in this building (The Pavilion),” Pearl pointed out.” It’s been a tough place for us at Ole Miss. There was a good balance on the stat sheet. A lot of guys contributed. Anfernee McLemore was tremendous with his ability to stretch the defense, pick-and-pop and make plays. What a difference. We were a much better team with him on the floor.”
Samir Doughty, who didn’t score until the second half, helped spark the comeback with 17 points and a defensive performance that earned praise from Pearl as did the defensive work of Isaac Okoro. Just as he did in an early season road win at South Alabama, Okoro made the winning basket as the freshman contributed 14 points and nine rebounds.
After shooting 21.4 percent in the first half at Ole Miss, Auburn will look for a better start on Saturday as the Kentucky Wildcats come to town for a 5 p.m. CST contest. Earlier in the day (10 a.m.-11 a.m.), Auburn Arena will be the site of the College Basketball GameDay television show.
The Wildcats, who play at home on Wednesday night vs. Vanderbilt, are 15-4 with a 5-1 record in the SEC, one game behind an LSU team that is 15-4 overall, 6-0 going into Wednesday’s home game vs. Alabama.
