New NET is out for today. We dropped 2 more spots to 27 while UK moves up a spot after beating Vandy at home who has a much lower NET than Ole Miss. Makes no sense.

Also NCAA's measure of SOS continues to drop for AU. Down to 65 overall & 54 in noncon games.

Some of the teams that struggled in nonconference play playing decent in conference has hurt the league. It probably would have been better if A&M and South Carolina had just rolled over and died January 1st

FWIW 23 is listed at 93%. That would put us at 10-8 in the conference. I would think that would get us in but I'm sure as hell not 93% confident in it.

Our opponents we have played so far this season have taken it on the chin this week. They are a combined 4-12 including bad losses relative to their NET ranking by Davidson & Colgate.

If you pulled that from teamrankings, that includes SECT play.

I don't tihnk we make the tournament if we go 8-10 in conference though so 22w would be necessary

How can you tell? I was trying to figure that out myself.

I forget what it was but I think it had to do with the max wins possible not lining up with remaining games In conference

I've followed them for a few years though and that's how they did it in the past

Pretty good interview of BP about this year’s team vs. last year’s team, Okoro’s talent, the SEC field, and the broader national landscape. ~18 minutes or so: LINK

I feel like this team is the perfect case study to explain why I don't love our strategy of recruiting elite 1 and done type prospects. In particular, our two championship teams were at their best with 5 athletic 3FG shooting threats on the floor who passed the ball.

Most HS shooting threats, even the top shooters in the class, are rarely elite CBB shooters their FR and even SO seasons. For example, look at Harper/Brown who both struggled in their early career shooting.

I want the Villanova championship model

- Recruit players in the 50-150 range who are fringe NBA prospects at best
- Develop them over 3-4 years
- Shoot 3s and dunk the ball
- Run teams out of the gym

We don't need to worry about an opponent's elite interior players since few can defend the perimeter and run the floor with an athletic stretch 4/5.

We should be playing a lineup like

- PG Harper/Jvon
- SG Brown type
- SG: Doughty type
- SG/Wing: Okoro/Dunbar types
- SF/PF: Okoro/Okeke/Dunbar types
