This doesn't make sense at all. And it seems strange that Pearl would be bugging his boss about his contract in the middle of any tournament.
And I am posting an Article that was published the end of February, that AD Greene states:
"The two men more recently have discussed a new, richer contract that would provide an even stronger show of solidarity. Those discussions are expected to resume in earnest once the Tigers' season ends.

Marcello is an idiot and no one with power at the university cares to give him any real info. He's interpreting people trying to give him the run around as being dodgy about issues.

Evidently there was a potential transfer in Auburn Monday. No name was given but said he would play the 4 for us and was a 40% shooter from 3. Anybody got any guesses?

It was also said it wasn't anyone from the SEC so that eliminates them. Probably should have included that little nugget

Nugget from a “What we are hearing” article from the 247 sports team:
- Bruce told a small group of reporters Tuesday that he loves Auburn and is a great fit for himself and his family. And both sides(Auburn AD and Bruce) believe in each other. Bruce is only focused on the season and negotiations will begin soon after the season. (Marcello)
