You can, just have to give him an on court assistant role. Can’t be an analyst or basketball ops position

I somewhat agree from what I've seen, but seeing Chuma's development and role could be a huge motivator to change his mind. He and Chuma have very similar skillsets.

I think that is a bit overblown by gumps. He was sceptical about AU basketball because we have sucked for 20 years. However, Bruce is legit and as long as we lock him down, we are in it.

Not to go fake insider here but one of his coaches has said him and his family just haven’t liked AU and he’d go to bama if they didn’t suck. Probably go to Memphis or Duke, lsu is the wild card

Yeah, I don’t think Bruce will leave Auburn, but just to show him some appreciation, we’re going to need to bump his pay. His base pay is 38th among his peers

With Bowman gone I’m not even getting my hopes up for Shariffe anymore.

I read an article recently that talks are going on about an extension with Bruce. I am quite sure a nice raise will be part of that.

I hate this mindset. Salary isn't the only way you can show appreciation and support. Mark Few is appreciated at Gonzaga despite making only $1.8mil #61 nat'l. Often times, there are significantly better uses of money

How about AU just ask Bruce what's most important to him? He may say salary, or he could say things like....

- More clearly defined contract language for termination for cause.

- Facilities update/renovations (locker room, practice facility, staff offices)

- Larger assistant/staff salary pool

- Larger recruiting/bagman budget

- Larger game day atmosphere + media budget

Ok...I guess I should have phrased it differently

To show our appreciation, Auburn will need to invest more money, time, love, etc into all aspects of our basketball program, whether that’s an extended and more lucrative contract or glow in the dark basketballs. Better?

More interested in his coach.

I know Bucky. He's cool, shot a lot of ball with him. He's got a bright future. I think he'd be a pickup

So if we hire him, you’ll be our official insider?

Not sure he's looking to leave.

Family settled.
Son on his staff.
Another son a junior at AU.
Daughter works for Turner in Atlanta.

He's big on family and has built a program. What he's doing at Auburn is VERY sustainable and believe it or not, he's in the middle of a few pretty decent recruiting hotbeds. And he still has ties to grab a couple kids from up north here and there.
