Why not 30 or 35 carries?

Tank is clearly the bell cow.

What is the FG record for a season at AU?

SEC record?
NCAA record?

Gus May set records this year.

He was gassed a lot tonight. One drive he couldn't finish and was tapping out in the 4th. He just needs to play into that type of shape.

Needs to be taken off kick off returns. Tutt and worm can handle it

I hate using starting RBs for kick returns.

Because he’s doing kickoffs and catching passes. If we didn’t have tank we’d be screwed.

When you start to realize that Gus and Chad are driven largely by what scheme or plays can show their genius, things make more sense

Running a successful Tank 30 times provides no such opportunity.

Gus would be accused of running RBs into the ground then.

How about MAR for kickoffs? He’s fast.

There's this fine line that only some fans actually know who, when, and how many carries a running back should get. I mean it's only his 3rd game of his career but frick it feed him the rock 40 times.

Spot on. That's the full extent of Gus' offensive strategy every week. The jury is still out on Chad imo. I think it's also why Gus has abandoned the philosophy of basing his offense on a true dual threat QB. He didn't like the insinuations that he needed one for his offense. I think he felt it took some of the shine off his "offensive genius" identity. He needed to prove everyone wrong.

Because he would be the next Kerryon. Beast through the middle of the schedule only to be broken down for the last two games.

I was calling for MAR in the first half when we were gashing them. Thought he could break a big one.

I'm beginning to think that there really is no MAR on the team.

Think about it...last year no sightings; this year, coach raves about him in practice...then season starts...guess what...still no MAR sightings.

He's like a 'Where's WAldo' map. He's never, but can't find him.

I'd love to know what's really going on behind the scenes there with Joiner leaving and MAR being MIA for two years now.

We know those guys have the physical tools. Are the knuckleheads? Or just not getting it done in practice? Has to be something going on there. Maybe not. Maybe not. Who knows...

DJ Williams was playing hurt it looked like to me.

MAR must be banged up with an amputation or something.

What's amusing is that I feel like this sounds, at first, like stupid fan musings. But I think anyone who is being honest and watches Auburn a lot knows it's likely quite true.

There is really no other excuse for the stubbornness. We've seen multiple cycles of Gus taking a step back, only to interfere and always with mediocre results. With all my heart I genuinely believe that he's more committed to proving to the world that his offensive philosophy is a multi-faceted, comprehensive, non-gimmick thing than he is committed to winning as many games as possible.

I don't think he'd admit that. Hell I'm not even sure he knows that's what he's doing. But every observation, experience with human beings, psychological insight, etc. indicates that it's the case.
