One of my favorite personal pictures is me and Lionel James at the 2013 SECCG. It was after the game and I happened to be leaving the stadium at the same time. I went up to him and identified him by name and number and gave him a War Eagle. he seemed genuinely surprised I recognized him.
I told him we were at Auburn at the same time and some people you NEVER forget! He was AWESOME.

Any highlights of Shivers from Saturday up yet?

Yep, lionel was awesome.
Shivers has a challenge James did not though, pass blocking. We rarely threw running the wishbone back then. A back for us now needs to be good at pass blocking to be on the field a lot. Our O is pretty balanced so we cant telegraph whether we are running or throwing based on personnel on the field.
That is usually a factor that prevents young running backs from seeing a lot of playing time for us. I have no idea how Shivers is doing in that area, just pointing out it is usually the last thing a young RB gets good at in Gus's O.

I must be old because the obvious comparison is Lionel ‘Little Train’ James

Reminds me of a meaner Noel Devine.
JaQuizz Rogers is a better comparison.

Noel Devine or Darren Sproles for me.

Shivers will be good for sure. Love how he finishes.
Hijack for a moment, sorry.
I kinda zoned out the 2nd half and watched a few other games going but did see Asa Martin got 2 carries for 13 yds. Did they not put him in until the very end and ran out of time? Or did he just not look very good? I looked for him to be the breakout guy from the incoming guys before the season. Haven't heard much about him lately though.

I think Asa fumbled on his very first carry
Along with everyone else new who played...
Boobie
Asa
Griffin King
Matthew Hill
All had fumbles Saturday

He very well might be. Still not sold on Boobie.

For what reason? His vision and acceleration is elite. He seems at full speed by the LOS. The only metric we are missing is number of carries he can handle and ball security. But if you can't see his potential, then IDK what to tell you.

I mean, we really haven't seen either of these things. It's hard to say a guy doesn't have break away speed and can't catch when he hasn't had the opportunity to do either. I know he had a drop against Washington, but it was a bullet.

I am not saying he is Ronnie Brown. But Kam will not take us where we want to go. He is slow and small. I like our chances with 28.

He’s better used as a change of pace back to me. 10 carries per game and use him in the pass game. There will be a battle for RB1 spot. Whitlow, Shivers maybe Joiner? I hate Asa Martin fumbled his second carry. Really wanted to see what he can do.

I am in a holding pattern myself. I like his physicality but need to see some more carries
