Harsin should have the common decency to let the coaches under contract know who will be retained and which need to be looking for another job

I don't give a damn who it is. Somebody needs to let these employees know they need to look for other work.

Every damn one of you would want to know your job status if your company was sold. Enough time has passed that the former staff should know where they stand.

As far as we know, they do know where they stand. We have no clue what conversations have or haven’t happened.

I thought I read where they had all cleaned out their offices like two weeks ago. If that's the case, they probably know where they stood at the time and those that wanted to come back (like Cadillac) set up interviews.

If my company was sold I would have been looking at other jobs as a back up

When your position has been filled, that's usually an indicator you're looking for work.

Or, you know, when the new HC was hired to begin with. Just assume it's time to slide into some other coach's DMs.

Jay G says he doesn't believe Brandon's report is accurate.

I don’t know why this keeps coming up. If the coach that hires you is fired — you’re looking. Your agent is looking. Has anyone been paying attention to the yearly carousel? These coaches and their agents are ALWAYS looking. You don’t need an incoming coach, with no relationship to you, to let you know that you should be answering the phone
I think it was reported elsewhere, but due to some language in the contracts them taking another job before being officially fired would affect their buyouts. A couple a contracts run out soon though and it looks like they are just going to let them lapse.

I think some people have mistake “Harsin hasn’t interviewed or talked to TWill and Garner” for “Auburn hasn’t talked to TWill and Garner”.

We have like 50 assistant ADs and a full HR department. Why in the world would you use an incoming coach to handle this

Gouge — “Congrats on the job, Coach. Oh, by the way, I know you have to have a ton of tough conversations with a staff back in Boise about their employment status so could you go ahead and tack on our mammoth football operations department as well? Thanks. Super embarrassing for us but we’ve got some message board posters that think you should do it.”

Eh...frick JayG, he blocked me because I said his "official stuff" wasn't yet official by Auburn saying "he's been on the beat for 20 something years" and then I said something about Darren Uscher being the director of recruiting.

Some of these guys may have been in this position before so they know how to 'look' for another job.

And i would think, that to honor their contract they would be looking for another job, and if secured one, then ask that it not go into affect or be announced until their current contract was ending.

But as someone said, there is someone in the ADs office who has talked to them, or they know who to go to for information.

And there is no easy or perfect way to do something like this when you are being let go bc of your boss being fired...

The second they cleaned out their offices, that is job abandonment. Might save us all of their buyouts.

Those coaches are owed buyouts. If they go out and gain employment, at another school before they are terminated, they forfeit their buyout. Would you screw yourself out of a big payout?

From my understanding, position coaches are essentially year to year employees. So they typically don’t have a buyout

Understanding is wrong. Kodi gets his remaining contract amount if terminated. Had two years so he gets it because he didn’t go find a job.
