Go back and watch the intro press conference and then take a look at the hire articles from the Auburn Twitter/website with the quotes from Harsin.Mason is an amazing hire. Bobo while doesn’t look like an all star hire has worked against Harsin for years and seems they are going to combine forces for a versatile offense. Bobo is a great recruiter also.

Beamer didn't want them. He encouraged them to take the Auburn job.

ETA he would rather have an OC that has never called a play..............and from what I can gather, he has always been a co-position coach.

They’re trying to act like we did them a favor. Whatever. They act like Bobo is the reason why they struggled on offense this year. Did they forget they’re USC lite?

And yes, I know they beat us this year.

I just saw that they've already replaced him with Marcus Satterfield from Carolina Panthers, so Bobo was probably a plan B

What is up with LSU and USC hiring Panthers water boys for OC jobs?

It's more than likely coaches that have formed or had social or working connection with those other people. A comfortable choice for the HC, maybe not ready to produce at that next level, maybe not.

Bobo was already under contract there so it’s probably safe to say he was plan A. Satterfield was the OL with Carolina. He’s got HC and OC experience so it’s not completely out of left field.

Seems like everyone is trying to recreate what Brady did last year.

LSU's OC, Peetz, worked under Brady at Carolina this year. Not sure if they've had a relationship before that, but I guess they're trying to catch lightning in a bottle again. Supposedly Brady recommended him.

He has worked in the NFL for a while and under Saban as an offensive analyst twice.

Anyone who has sat next to Brady within the last two years has gotten some type of job. Pretty wild

I think that was just the perfect storm of right place, right players, right time. Kind of Aub 2010.
Brady (Carolina) was in the bottom 1/3 in the NFL this year

Yep. People forget that LSU had the Heisman winner (and first pick in the draft) as their QB. They had 3 (or was it 4) 1st round WR's. All Brady did was properly utilize them. He did it well, but it's not like he turned chicken shite into chicken salad.

If we could give this board a motto, I'd make it this in a heartbeat
