Preacher man was right at home behind the mic.

Watching the replay now. Excellent communicator. Refreshing contrast to Harsin.

Let's roll.

ETA: I think Freeze and Pearl are going to be fantastic champions for Auburn sports. Recruits are going to want to be on campus with those guys.

So weird to think of a guy who sounds like that hiring hookers like 20 times.

Is it though? The most stand up dudes I've met generally quietly go about being stand up. Guys who talk about how stand up they are often are not so stand up behind closed doors.

That said I truly don't care if he bought hookers for himself the guy can do what he wants as long as he has repented and keeps it buttoned up at AU.

Freeze read that Jesus spent a lot of time with prostitutes and decided he should as well. Though, he may have misinterpreted some things

Freeze was just trying to help them change their ways. This whole thing has been a big misunderstanding.

Maybe I'm just easily manipulated but he killed that presser.

From a skeptic’s perspective - I thought he did really well. He’ll never struggle in front of a microphone

The Southern Baptist boy in me was expecting an alter call at end.

Totally random observation, did anyone else catch his thanking the Thuoys (Michael Oher's adoptive family of The Blind Side fame) for being there?

I'm happy with Hugh but not totally happy with the process.

1) I hope they didn't FORCE him to keep Caddy. I am glad Caddy is staying, but it should be Hugh's call. I am not certain it was.

2) Cohen refused to take questions from the press. Not a good look at all. Probably the first presser I've ever seen where this did not happen (at AU or elsewhere).

3) Hugh Freeze is a fantastic speaker - he coulda made a lot of money on TBN or a mega church.

Would have been hilarious. The 77 point plans. The embrace JABA stuff. Could’ve been gold, JERRY!

I've been to a lot of revivals and when Freeze got cranked up I expected to see people coming upfront to get saved.

Is it normal for the AD to field questions from the media? I could be wrong but I feel like they normally just talk briefly about the process and introduce the HC.

What makes you say you aren't certain it was?

Regardless of if they made him or not, whoever got the job would be an idiot not to keep him around. It would throw out a ton of goodwill with the fanbase if he wasn't kept around. Hell, half of AU Twitter wanted him to get the job. Rational fans know he wasn't ready, but would be a key part in helping in the transition.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like I've seen it before.

I think he's smart enough to know he needed to keep Caddy to foster some goodwill with the team and the fans. He knew how controversial this hire was going to be.

By the way who is Matt Scalici? I think he's some kind of reporter or something, but damn he has been on Twitter all day trashing Hugh. Dude has a problem.

Anyone know who he works for?

Do ADs typically take questions at a coach’s PC?

The media is what it is… they’re doing their sanctimonious job.
