From all I have been able to gather I’m going to try to give anyone going to the scrimmage some things to look for.
QB - Brown will be a solid SEC QB. Behind him is questionable as is any backup QB. If Brown stays healthy we can expect QB to be as good as Bo Nix prior to his injury so pretty good but not the top SEC QB. Maybe top 5. We may need him to be a playmaker with his arm and legs.
OL - an ok unit probably will be lower half or possibly lower 1/3 of the conference. Best is solid but overall talent and just maulers the line is not. They will be much improved on missing assignments but talent level is lacking with the experienced players. Money has to be moved to getting a top 5ish SEC talent on the OL.
TE - expect a lot of formations but not a lot of explosive plays. We don’t have an explosive TE that can take a short out for 40 yards or one that can stretch the seam. Blocking has been a work in progress and should continue to improve over the course of the offseason and season
WR - middle SEC talent. Outside blocking is very physical. None of the expected starters are all- SEC first team talents. Maybe someone slides into 3rd based only on yardage not talent. We have some talent some are still young. My pick to pop is Nimrod.
RB - upper middle of the conference. Will put up numbers but yet to establish a complete back that can do everything. Mabson is the closest to being that. Everyone in the room has strengths and weaknesses. But as a group they shouldn’t be reason we lose games and could possibly win us some.

Defense
Interior DL - the 2 deep look very good. We can probably roll with 5-6 on the interior. I would say probably top 4ish type affect in the conference. Need to stay healthy and fresh
Edge/Buck - young high level talent. Doing very well setting the edge and holding/shedding blocks. No one has popped as a top level pass rusher. DL maybe be more of a mush rush if someone doesn’t consistently win coming around the corner
LB - Top 3rd in the conference and some hitters. They have been busting folks all spring. If we stay fully healthy expect some big numbers from all 3 spots. Riddick could really shore up the numbers if he can get fully healthy. Our Mike backers still struggle some in pass coverage . That’s why it’s a gamble to blitz the Will backer but we will a lot
S - extremely physical and very talented. Possibly top 5 group in conference. Expect big hits and hopefully some huge turnovers this season. Guys are improving in coverage in the spring. Hope it continues into the season. This includes the nickel backs
CB - improved physical play. We have 1 very solid SEC type and 3 that have the talent but lack consistency. Someone will emerge to take the starting spot but the other 2 have to be able to go at any time. Plus we need a 5th to come along during summer and fall camps. Should be middle of the pack type corners.
I have heard nothing on special teams but if we can snap the ball and kick it all while lining up that seems like an improvement.

Pretty much agree with this assessment from everything I have heard. I’m not going to completely judge the Oline until Ramil is healthy.
Also, 100% agree on Nimrod. Heard he’s been explosive.

thanks Corch, given the apparent upgrade in coaching, gameplanning and decision making we should be a solid but unspectacular team this fall
at the very least i expect us to not to completely waste what talent we have like the last couple of seasons
