Defreeze loves putting the defense and the quarterback in conflict simultaneously creating big plays and turnovers.

Doesn’t matter “why” for Freeze … he either addresses this root problem, or he will deservedly be sent packing at the end of the 2025 season… there’s no more runway to get this pig airborn.

Haynes is ok, but I don't know if hes a good enough passer for what we are looking for.
Corch tbh I don't get why you like the wig man so much. He's just ok to me.

Yeah, he was super mediocre when he started at A&M, and would be a terrible fit in a RPO heavy scheme. Don't see the appeal at all for what Freeze likes to do.

No pocket passers for me dawg. Freeze needs a true dual threat to make teams pay for bringing the house the entire game.

Agreed. In today’s game, I think you have to have a mobile QB. Doesn’t have to be a Nick Marshall type, but you have to be mobile enough to scramble when plays breakdown and keep the backside of defenses honest.

So no Cam Ward for you then? What is a "pocket passer"? There are very few actual statuesque QB's left.
Guys like Ward, the Rourke kid at Indiana, and many of the highest rated QB's in the country this season are guys who look to stay in the pocket.

Hell, Freeze COULD HAVE made em PAY with screen passes, draw plays and Wheel Routes to Jarquez but he wasn’t smart enough to realize he had the best back in the league besides Dylan Sampson @ TN

Someone that can’t be dangerous when they take off. Nobody was afraid of PT running and getting maybe 30 yards during the game.

Many dual threat QBs get the luxury to stay in the pocket, because defenses try to contain them and not bring pressure. Durkin was afraid to pressure multiple QBs this season.

Cam Ward averaged 16 yards a game this year and averaged less than 11 yards a game for his career
ETA: Ward has great pocket presence and some elusiveness but rarely looks to actually run the ball

Dear god are you clueless.
Go and check Cam Ward's career stats .

He had a whopping 58 carries for 196 yards this season (3.4 YPC).
In his two seasons at WSU he was averaging 0.5 and 1.2 YPC.
Over his entire career he has 461 rushing yards and a 1.2 YPC. That is ~92 yards per season.
This is a guy that only as a last resort looks to leave the pocket. He does NOT look to run down the field.
Payton ****ing Thorne had more rush yards LAST SEASON (515) than Ward has in his ENTIRE CAREER. Thorne has 1,068 rushing yards in his career. More than 2x as many was Ward. His career YPC is 2.6. Again, more than 2x Ward's career YPC.

Go and check some of his scramble highlights, retard. I guess you think Pat Mahomes is a pocket passer too.

I don’t know if some of y’all are being purposefully obtuse or just taking the term pocket passer way too literally.
Jville is clearly using the term as it is normally used in the recruiting world to describe a QB that has no real running/scrambling threat (Miller Moss). Cam Ward is clearly a dual threat QB. The fact that he scrambled to pass, like a Bryce Young or Kyler Murray, doesn’t make him any less kf a dual threat.
