I think he was effectively pushed out by way of them significantly cutting his NIL deal. Its very obvious that they were going to bring basically the whole USF WR room, and I doubt there was much effort placed in re-recruiting Perry Thompson.

Isn’t the rumor that he ghosted the entire staff? Or was that someone else? Simmons? Can’t keep all these transfer stories straight.

The only one I remember hearing about ghosting the staff is Xavier Chaplin.

We lost 5 WRs & have gained 5 WRs from recruiting & portal so far...So we will see what happens with these USF WRs & others.
Looking forward to it along with a decent running game. But need some Good Road Graders to give the QB some time...

Wasn’t Thompson. He’s handled this appropriately from anything I’ve seen. Simmons rumored to have ghosted everyone.

Just for reference. LSU has 26 transfers. Their whole offenseive production basically in the portal and have 4 commit. Which are from Hawii Pitt Old Dominion and Utah

I’m genuinely surprised that brown isn’t already on board.
I’m not too worried about most of these players either way. Auburn will always attract talent. What I am worried about is why this is taking so long.
I can’t remember a recruitment this important to Auburn football in quite some time.

The whole portal and NIL is making me consider watching football anymore. It’s out of control. I don’t think anyone realizes what they created when NIL and Transfer rules were put in place and how it has diminished the product of the game.

I’ll be honest I think I’m more hurt by recruiting being dead now. Ive followed that 18 year or so now maybe longer than some of these kids making these nil decisions and it literally kills the sport for me to not be able to look forward to developing an athlete you recruited without these every year free agency’s. It is what it is.
