Lol the last qb that we had that even had a pocket to move around in was stidham. One day you guys will get it and lol at deuce in parentheses like you have any clue what his pocket presence is like.

Golesh has to set a standard here given that he inherited a VERY overpaid roster. I do not expect these guys who don't like our new NIL offers and choose to enter the Portal to be taken back, even if they change their mind. That's not normally how a new coach operates in year one.
Simmons did this exact same shite last year as well and received a bump in pay to convince him to stay, and yet he produced nothing extra. A lot of these guys have gotten too used to siphoning Auburn money since they were first recruited out of HS, and Golesh is going to need to put an end to that.

Golesh's whole "i want guys that want to he here" thing suddenly starts to not mean much when he buys Simmons back out the portal. We don't need him anyways. I'd need to watch some more film a lil more closely but I think Nimrod is a Simmons type and even if Singleton bails too, I'm sure Golesh knows rn he's got Nimrod in his back pocket.

Whatever you say, dude. Deuce moved around and eluded pressure in his one start. And yes, the pressure was still there against Mercer. Arnold came in and immediately got sacked.

So how do you know he did buy him back? Do you know his NIL contract? Also, no one has jumped into the portal yet technically. They announced their intentions but if they think they will get better money than what we overpaid for then have fun & good luck. It is time that these kids getting a big paycheck are held accountable for their contracts like UGA is doing to that lineman who left.
Just my opinion but unless the coaches are ok with letting them out of the contract then I say hold them to it penalties and all. I don't know if there are penalties or what is happening but I do know they are getting paid a pretty penny not to be held up to the contracts and I hope that these contracts have penalties built in.

He asks for a certain amount of money. We offer less. He says “fine I’ll enter the portal”. We say. “That’s fine”. He goes out there doesn’t get another offer that meets what he asking and he comes back.

The issue here is that guys like Simmons are getting renegotiated offers that are obviously going to be for less than what Freeze was paying.
There are going to be guys leaving for the sole reason that they are going to be offended to learn that they will no longer be paid the salary of a star player.

A************s said that talks with ESjr have gone better than expected. He is starting to get an idea of what this offense can do for his draft stock. This doesn't mean Singleton is definitely staying, but that he's gone from definitely leaving, to 51% staying.
That, coupled with NIL offers simmons was getting, and Marcus Davis not being retained led to him deciding he was done at AU

Simmons looked a good bit slower this year compared to last. For a speed guy, he didn’t outrun anybody.

I’ve been as big a proponent for Simmons as any here (on field at least), and if he can get more somewhere else, go for it. He is plenty talented but isn’t irreplaceable. He hasn’t separated himself as a receiver. He is good at a decent amount of things but not great at anything. I’d love him to stay and continue to develop. I think he can do really good things here, but if someone wants to pay more than what we are, then go for it.
