If there is a good o-line in place Gus might have success for a couple of years but when his o-line recruiting kicks in it's all down hill. Gus' early success at Auburn was Nick Marshall and a Chizik era built o-line.

Gus has hired Twill as DC

He can get 2 years experience and if he's successful and Mason bolts for a HC gig he should be considered

Hopefully that settles the debate on "whose side" T-Will was on

Happy for him, great career opportunity. Probably not the last AU Alum we'll see at UCF.

I could see him pull Kody as OC

We can also go ahead and confirm we would’ve lost TWill if we hired him for LBs.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it worked out that we went elsewhere

Good point.

It will be interesting to see how his D develops and performs in this conference.

They'll be playing eventually in a stadium that holds about 48,000 fans.

I hope he and Gus have success...

He said in his press conference that he would call plays, but he would hire a QB coach.

I don't think it happens, but how wild would it be for Kodi to be hired to coach WRs at UCF, leave, and return to UCF as OC? That's a quick turnaround for a promotion.

Lanier is only a fan of fishing, winning and tequila...and not necessarily in that order

Nope! Probably would need more time in the saddle before he comes back...two years is not enough time, need to see at least 4-5 years with recruiting schema etc...

Isn't it amazing how highly regarded Gus is after we let him go over on the rant?

I think he got burnt out here and got tired of dealing with the boosters here.

Malzahn said he will call the plays at UCF and has determined he will never relinquish playcalling duties again.

Can someone point out the particular moment when he ever started not-calling plays? I seemed to have missed it.
