This entire post is depressing. Have some stones AU alums. You are all men of constant sorrow.

There’s an outside chance that Harsin’s MO is to overlook the hell out of one team a year for a big game…so maybe not super ugly. We bounced back last year after Ga St to win in Red Stick first time in forever…can only hope we bounce back this year.

This has been my hope. We focused on PSU and slacked prep for Mercer & SJSU. We'll soon see.

Seriously. He tripped the RBs multiple times last night. That’s some peewee crap.

I don't know what happened with Tank. They showed where Hunter tripped on replay. He decided to cut back and his feet came out from under him. TJ was yards away from him.

For all of us who weren’t born this century it will probably feel a lot like the 2003 USC game.

This game doesn't feel like that at all. We thought we were going to be one of the best teams in the country that year and anticipation for that game was sky high, I don't think anyone feels that way right now.

I don't know but Penn State has a pretty good quarterback, lots of playing experience. I think he is a six year guy. The defense will need to keep the pressure on him.

Unlike last year, when Mason REFUSED to blitz?

I don't think we're good

I nonetheless think we'll have a good chance to beat PSU.

If I had to guess, we'll come out with a sharp gameplan and good play calling. TJ will be ok, Robby has a couple key runs. RBs are very good and the defense is clutch. We win something like 24-20.

Everyone's hope is renewed, then we struggle mightily to beat Missouri and the QBs look absolutely atrocious.

We all had a little hope for redemption after losing to them in Cal, I at least felt like we had a chance since we were in JH.

We had a lot more than a little hope that game...came in ranked #6, ranked #1 by some preseason mags, had "The 4 Horsemen" at running back, and we were expecting to just dominate them.

We even introduced a new tradition before the game, where "when" we scored our first touchdown against them, we were going to do a "Touchdown Auburn" chant in honor of Jim Fyffe.

And then we got goose egged and didn't score a TD for 2 straight games.

My optimistic post of the week. Here are some reasons I think we win.

1. PSU is one of those teams where home field advantage means a good bit and I think AU fans will make this one of the more hostile places they play all year.

2. Clifford is a very good qb at times, but the truth is I see him get injured a lot when he plays. I still think he will carve up our secondary, but if he takes a few hits I expect it to get in his head.

3. PSU has not shown that they have fixed their rushing attack. I think Singleton is a real deal at RB, but their line is very suspect. They did improve a LOT last week but it is tough to get much from that game.

4. If Purdue had a running game, PSU would have been routed. We will be the best running team they have faced so far.

5. Franklin tends to shite the bed at least twice a season so hopefully this is one of them.

6.Franklin just got a big fat extension and the truth is this game, while important to them, does not significantly impact their goals with a win or a loss. Harsin and company know what this game means for AU.

If we keep from having turnovers, I like our chances.

Revenge games can bring out the best, so I'm hoping for something like 33-14 with our D keeping up well.
