I'm for easier, I guess competive fairness is what's driving this?

The priorities in creating the schedules were protecting traditional rivalries, competitive fairness, rotational frequency and ensuring a home and away balance with a Power 4 non-conference opponent for the 2026 season.

Disappointing. I was thinking of one of the Mississippi schools.

It’ll all change again when we add 4 more teams to make it a 20 team conference.

Easy only if Vandy falls back to historical standards. If they somehow maintain this level of competitiveness then we'll evenly matched with our current standards

The SEC really is lamer than it was.
I teach at a suburban high school in the BHam area. These kids going to Alabama and Auburn know people at Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Miss St. We’ve even had a few at LSU.
It’s part of the culture of the SEC.
No one fricking knows anyone at Texas, Oklahoma, or Missouri.
The Auburn schedule should be:
Alabama
Georgia
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St
Tennessee or Florida
Vanderbilt
Kentucky, South Carolina, or Arkansas
Get these goddamn non Southern teams out. Arkansas shouldn’t really be here either, but I’m used to them.

Pre 1992 SEC > any SEC after 1992

I'm fine with this. We keep the 2 traditionals and have 'normally' less-than-powerhouse team. My hope was for Florida, but prefer Vandy over MS schools.
Florida is the more traditional team from the old SEC. Playing MS schools doesn't mean better recruiting like a FL would. Vandy over MSU? Would much rather take an trip to Nashville than Starkville any day.
Now let's see if our AD can get the UGa/Bama Home and Away garbage fixed. Play UGa away twice to get that fixed? Heck yeah.

Maybe they could get refs that aren't bottom of the barrel

There were 13 founding members 10 you are thinking about + Georgia Tech, Sewanee & Tulane...
Sewanee left post 1940
Georgia Tech - 1963
Tulane - 1965

They announce this same day as Pearl retires to distract me and keep me from rioting. But I will not be distracted.
Vandy as our third option sucks. I want a real schedule back

At least Nashville is nice, right?

I sure hope Pavia doesn’t sue for extra years of eligibility.

Vandy and bammer have the same 3 permanents?

I was hoping for Kentucky.

Expanding on that thought, should we call our division the Black and Blue division and the other the Carpetbagger division?
