Have driven several sections: Illinois. California, and from Kansas-Missouri border to OK City. In every state you have to do a bit of searching online to find a good route with a number of sights. Actual 66 roads are typically rough, since interstates were put in near the path.
Most entertaining was the 12 mile portion in Kansas.I also found each state has booklets or maps highlighting 66, since it the anniversary year. And I have plans to complete the Route next year, taking at least 2 trips to do so.
