quote:Not a chance he should be allowed to be an on field coach. He's already proven time and again that he is bad at it, not just mid or not that good, but straight up bad. Only way you bring him in is as an analyst, but even then the way he burned bridges last time he was here and the way he babied Duke Williams is part of the reason he ended up getting kicked off the team. I would rather keep him away if its possible.
Any chance he ends up back at AU? Not sure what he'd coach but the guy is a hell of a recruiter.

Dameyune was my favorite AU player as a child also. From everything I hear he scorched the earth when he left AU the last time though. I wouldn't hold my breath on him coming back.

Damn…. Thats my cousins son. Family is all Bama and hates Auburn with a passion! Certainly not SEC caliber player but if it helps get a 5-star… so be it. Crazy!

Charleston Collins would be perfect for the strongside spot that it looks like we will miss on Beaman and LJ McCray.
We were one of his finalists, he mentioned then how Walker White was in his ear constantly. Now that DJ Lindsay has also committed (also from LRock) and the issues at Arkansas, he would be a huge get.

Yep 2024 All American. I bet Gus is also after this kid, so would be good to see how Hugh does competing with him for the top Arkansas kids as their football program seems to be dying on the vine. They are just looking around with hands on their hips while programs around them are getting in some solid hires.

I have a better chance of being named QB coach than Craig

Apparently Florida is after Etheridge. I don't see him leaving unless they offer him a more prominent "title" and give him more money. But coaching changes are always pretty unpredictable.

I hope he doesn't get on that sinking ship.

I believe he coached under Napier before and there is an open spot nothing more to that. Florida fans also think pigs can fly.....

I just don't believe etheridge is that dumb. Billy won't make it halfway through next season, so he'd be looking for another job in my opinion. His time is coming so why not stack talent at Auburn, wait till we have a good year, THEN bolt. Leaving now for that situation would be idiocy.

Etheridge is the most valuable staff person on this staff.

Not anymore, that would be Josh Aldridge

What title would they give him tho?

Co-DC? Not saying they are or will but it would be the only thing they could probably offer to get him to even remotely consider.

Etheridge isn’t leaving Auburn for UF.
Short of being offered a DC position he won’t leave Auburn period.

Zac Etheridge was ranked 10 in recruiter rankings on 247 for 2023.
So far he is 64th for 2024 with Garrett and Davis ahead of him at 28 and 49. Josh Alrdidge doesn't show up till 90th.
