I’m one of the 1640. However if this push to 4K doesn’t work with $1mil on the line I will drop my donation down to the $17 one because it will appear the Auburn Family isn’t serious about winning.

I’m still of the opinion you have 80k fans in the stadium put some drop boxes in there. Have a OTV rep at the drop “barrel” to answer questions or just receive drop in donations. If you just get 15k fans which would be close to 25% and they only dropped a $20 bill that would be $300k per game. And drunk fired up Auburn fans will throw some money around. It just makes to much sense

Also from the video we have 1640 members of OTV. That’s ridiculously low for a fanbase that wants to compete for championships in multiple sports.

Yeah that's incredibly low.

I will say, though, the narrative that OTV was sending out emails begging for $1000 donations because they had more money pledged than was coming in doesn't sound legit. I've been a member since September of '22 at $88/month and haven't received any kind of email communication like that. I've received a few autographed postcards (one from J. Johnson and one from Tre Donaldson), used my voucher for a nice qtr zip pullover in the OTV store, took my son to a meet and greet with Butch and a couple baseball players, gotten a bunch of stickers and that's it. Maybe they begged the few people donating at $1200 monthly or whatever it is, but not me.

Maybe my low level donation isn't enough for them to consider begging me, but I have a really hard time thinking they made more pledges than they had the cash for. Because even though they claim 90% will always go to the players, and it's not setup for anyone running the program to profit, language like that always makes me skeptical.

The workers obviously are making money. And they should. However if I see them start rolling up in 200k autos or wearing $1000 suits and $500 shoes I’m out.

I trust Whiteside and Jason Campbell.

Yeah, if they had OTV reps at every gate or concession with a sign asking for a dollar or two, that would even go a long way towards building up a war chest to compete with.

I agree that wasn’t the right marketing when they first started. I don’t use the benefits they offer already. I don’t need that shite lol. Granted if you are a 6month member in the spring would be nice to get a t-shirt and a golf shirt, and the fall a simple pull over. But I’m sure stock and overhead may not have the value to do those things.

In reality OM doesn’t have that many actual members, IE where they are paying a recurring fee every month.
They drove up numbers by letting people become “members” with a one time donation of any amount last year when they thought Lane was leaving so what you probably have is a bunch of people giving like $5-$20 or so one time.

OTV does not count one time donors as “members”

Some of it is frankly they do no advertise well or communicate great. I'd have had no idea about the $1m pledge drive if not for the post here.

There is an ad or two at the games but it isn't much to grab any attention. There needs to be a much more vocal push.

Grassroots marketing 101.

But as the die hard fans we should pass the information around to casuals. No pressure just make them aware and where they can go to get more information.

Ethically I’m still against amateur athletes getting paid. But my desire to win out weighs that.

We should put a requirement on this thread.

If you don’t donate, you can’t post.

Our fanbase isn’t serious about winning. They’re content with tailgating each fall and bitching about why our 3 stars players aren’t able to compete with 4 and 5 stars.

The season ends and they forget about the program and move on with their lives with some more complaining mixed in once our recruiting class is underwhelming on signing day and our rivals sign top 3 classes.

Good point.

Auburn has always been short of money for athletics and our fans are known for not caring.

Add another one to the list of dumb takes. Auburn is going to end up top 10 in recruiting with 4 and 5 star recruits

I don’t forget about our program, but I do move on with my life and not let it be defined by how the season went…

It's crazy all those guys would only get us to 5th or 6th. I'd definitely take it though

anywhere in the top 7 is championship contending. These recruiting sites tend to adjust player rankings based on the schools they commit to. Top 7 puts us in the elite category regardless of where that is in comparison to other SEC teams

If we finish that high you're splitting hairs in terms of elite talent. It all comes down to Coaching after you put yourself there.

And IF that happens it’ll only be because Jimmy Raine and Harbert emptied the bank accounts. Our NIL fanbase registration is currently laughable.

An OTV girl stops by our tailgate every game, hands out stickers and a postcard of info and leaves. Barely says 10 words. They definitely need to up the education and be more engaging.
