We just offered an OL from South Dakota. Navarro Schunke, 6’6-300lbs. Four year straight state champion in wrestling that just decided to pursue football instead. Very interesting prospect.

high, high motor guy.

Nick wasn’t known as a high motor guy was he?

In fact wasn’t that the knock on him before 2010?

I remember him being called high motor a lot during 2010. If it was considered an issue before his breakout season I do not remember.

Darren Bates told a story on his podcast when King Dunlap was on a few weeks ago about Fairley hiding in the bathroom for an entire off-season workout session and tried to sneak back in at the last moment. Nobody said anything until they broke it down and dismissed everyone and coach Yox said "Fairley! You stay.."

Bates said he felt sorry for him because he just knows Yox tortured him basically for trying to skip out like that.

ETA: I believe you're right too. I remember stories coming out about how Rocker made Fairley a sort of pet project during the off-season and rode him pretty hard leading up to the season. He knew the dude had pote till to be great but just never put in 100% to reach his peak before that year. Glad he did if that is actually what happened. Guy was a game wrecker.

You don’t tell Rocker no. If he tells you you’re gonna go give 100% and be the best DL in the country, you do it. He’s a scary dude. I’ve always said I’m scared of no man, but I will admit Rocker might make me flinch and have some serious second thoughts.

Clemente is putting out an article tomorrow about 2 OL, Coen Echols and Kahlil House, Coen is committed to A&M and House to Stanford. With the PAC 12 collapsing it would make sense that House would be looking for options

Always felt that Khalil House would come back into play, and also now with CHF's recruiting success that is even more so.

Would love to reel him back in.

I saw that, Id just take the state champion with a grain of salt its South Dakota, the population is less than a million, that would be "all county" in Ga or Fl.

The other two are interior guys. What is it with us and tackles we have some sort of obeah evil eye on us? Ga has five, thats five, OT committed this cycle.

Coen Echols would be a good one though, hes a pit bull.

The debate started when the capitol of Dakota Territory was moved from Yankton to Bismarck.

"South Dakotans say it got stolen. But North Dakotans would say it got moved because that's where the growth was in the territory," Dr. Mullin said. "And at this time, Yankton was very isolated. You couldn't get to Yankton directly from anywhere."

Up until this point, Dr. Mullin said Yanktonites dominated politics in the territory. They were afraid this move would take away their influence. So the conversation started between politicians to create a North Dakota and South Dakota.

More politicians liked the idea of separate states though because they believed it created more government support and opportunity. The next question was where to draw the territory line for each state. That's why the territory was divided north and south officially in 1889

Interesting story, now tell us about the father of South Sudan, George Clooney

Im kidding that was interesting, I never knew that.

Question for you guys, regarding the portal. How does that work after the fall when kids enter the portal. We will have a bunch of regular grads in the spring, and a lot of portal guys graduating in the spring, but very few available slots within the 85 limit until then. Do we miss out, as will a lot of schools, or do most of the kids wait til spring to announce they are hitting the portal?

Tracy Rocker wasn't the greatest at recruiting by any metric, but he sure could motivate a D-line the day of the game. I remember several moments when his sideline coaching pushed us to getting a defensive stop. Travis Williams was another Guy who could motivate players to do anything when it was crunch time. Harsin didn't retain him because he wanted on of his potato boys at the helm instead of the best guy. He also killed in recruiting from what I remember, and is doing pretty well for the pigs right now.

Harsin has a Masters in idiotdom and a PHD in knuckleheadedness.

The longer this drags out the worse it is for AU. He's been "going to commit anytime" for the past 2 weeks.

I'm not worried about it at all.

I'm late, but I just noticed Heyward committed to UCF yesterday. Leaves little doubt that Patterson is the top target left at S.

Yeah, Chizik said in an interview that he told Fairly to step it up if he wanted to go to the NFL.

Believe it was on the Auburn 2010 documentary.

Here's the link if you haven't seen it. Very good. Good clips and interviews.

Fairley was once considered the consensus top defensive tackle prospect in the 2011 class, but his attitude and work ethic might have caused him to slip on some boards. Still, he projects to be incredibly disruptive against the pass and run. Nightmare to pass protect against. Possesses great burst, hands that never stop moving, brute strength to push the pocket, and a vast arsenal of moves. Against the run, keeps blockers away from his body, uses his height to find the football, and simply beats lineman with his quickness. Can sniff out screens and draws. There are almost no flaws with Fairley's physical tools, but his character and work habits should be checked out. Regardless, he is certainly a top-five talent.

That is part of his his draft assessment
