But I will say I have been vocal about some recruits over the years if they maybe be way over rated or way underrated depending on the industry. I use my own talent analysis instead of someone else’s. I know what an SEC player looks like and plays like.
Like Koolaid McKinstrey being a safety and not a cornerback? That one was awesome
He’s predicted to be the first in the draft this year I believe.

He’s not a very good scout, he tries to pretend tho

I even pointed out that Canion’s HS QB was shite and that most of his film were under thrown jump balls. He was a lowly ranked 3* kid

I'd wager the same was said about Tre Smith
I think Powell Gordon is a good kid with a solid potential to play at a G5 school, but he got only mid-major offers from the likes of Southern Miss, South Alabama, and UAB and he never sniffed the field on a terrible AU team.
If memory serves, Tre Smith was the offensive player of the year in his HS classification in Florida and we beat out UF and Nebraska for his services. And he played some minutes as a true freshman even before he burst onto the scene in Tuscaloosa.

This. Tre Smith was actually a 4 star recruit.

I’ll admit I’m not!! I never understood the hype around Faulk… now he’s all the talk.

I look at average rating as well, among other factors, and our 90.83 is higher than 28-29 schools above us if I remember correctly.
I remember how angry everyone gets over so many three stars and yet according to 247 we only have two out of the 11 committed that are three stars. I would say we are in a good spot at the moment.

I said WR over DB. Still think he’s overrated. DJ James’s numbers blow him away in coverage. We will see where the actual draft actually takes him.

eta: just saw where met said he was a four star. Thats crazy. Also, the point was you never know who is going to contribute and Powell may get his number called at a crucial time in a game and actually deliver. If he never sees the field, then hopefully he can give some good looks on scout

I'm up late and randomly saw Taumua just committed to Nebraska as expected (He's in Hawaii that's why so late).

Well that is annoying. Hopefully we get DeAndre Carter. Id love to get him, not just because he is a great player, but open the eyes to a lot of people's thoughts about Auburn at a school like Mater Dei.
We knew we would have to go heavy in the portal for another year or two, particularly for linemen. Id love to get more like Muskrat who have two years to play.

Yea, I really hope the OL is the group that really boosts the most once the product is seen out on the field with Freeze (assuming it is a half decent product).
