Nah, but a man can dream, can't he?

I don't see a defensive mind coach wanting to hire someone to butt heads with. They promote within or get an up and comer.

Unless the coach is trying to focus on managing a program and has no problem entrusting the defense to a respected assistant.

The difference in philosophy is the only weird part just because continuity when a guy like Chavis leaves wouldn't be there

Saban just hired Pruitt...he's certainly not an up and comer.

He's also a guy that learned from Saban. Doesn't exactly counter his point there...

What about Josh Conklin at Pitt? Was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2014 at FIU and has the 27th ranked defense this season at Pitt. Also was on staff with Lance Thompson at Tennessee.

Tom Allen's bowl game is on Monday. Perhaps we will have a DC by Tuesday?

We need to just pull the trigger on Kevin Green + Joe Whitt Jr.

They may not be the best we can hire, but a former pro wrestler and el capitan de swag would be awesome

Eltoro Freeman still seems interested in the program. Maybe we give him a shot.

So why should Gus hire him as DC, with NO experience doing this at the Major college level.

Probably because he's sat under the best defense in the nation the last several years. Not only that, the position he coached was their most elite spot.

I've always hated chavis for no particularly good reason. For him to wind up at Auburn would perversely poetic.

I really like hating on people too. if there is someone I'm supposed to hate on, I want to know who that person is.
