Hopefully we can help convince them to hire Gus by winning out in the regular season.

- Finish the year with home wins over our biggest rivals.
- Get out from under that ridiculous buyout.
- Gustav goes to a place where he can win 9-10 games consistently with an occasional shot at a title.
- We hire a solid P5 HC like Cristobal, or take a chance with a top notch coordinator like Aranda.
Obviously it's not going to happen, but it'll be pleasant to think about over the next couple of weeks until reality hits

ACC would be a good fit for Gus. He knows how to beat up on teams like that.

Holy hell. You want to buy out Gus to hire a head coach that he totally outcoached in the only game they played against each other.
Dude has been getting slammed all year for making so many mistakes.
fricking genius.

I hate even contributing to this thread, BUT...... It would be a nice fit personnel wise to get an offensive guy from the Ravens if possible. They are basically running an NFL version of our 2010 offense with Lamar Jackson.

He also hasn’t been there a full 2 years yet. It’s commendable that they are willing to cut their losses early and not drag it out.
Well, lots thought he was a "special hire" anyway so who knows. He has not made any strides and FSU has been terrible in one of the easiest conferences around.

And FTR, I didn’t say I wanted to buyout Gustav, I was hoping FSU (or someone else) would hire him away so we wouldn’t have to buy him out.
I also said it wasn’t going to happen in any case so we’re not really arguing about reality

No he hasn’t. His team is undefeated after our the loss to Auburn. Noise is noise.
He got slammed by some bleeding hearts for not bleeding the clock in the late third and early fourth against Auburn. I don’t think that is a big deal. I hope you noticed Gus called timeout with 19 seconds left on the play clock very LATE in the game Saturday.
Malzahn has been slammed quite a bit that I know of though.

Thats a understatement. Its a little easier to keep the fans quiet when your schedule is simple.

Well undefeated after the loss to us. You knew what I meant.
Our offense is offensive and has been for years. It’s not that we lose,it’s how we lose. Before the long run, it was a one score game against Florida for how long? Our offense is so bad it feels like we are down multiple TDs when we are not. This is a Gus problem and you know that. QB play regressed last year with a RS junior, so don’t know that you can blame it on the TF this year.
You said yourself that Gus has completely gone away from his offense and is a train wreck. If you truly believe that, I’m not sure why you’re onboard with keeping him. Throwing it 44 times in run formations and schemes is trash.

Respectfully disagree.
It is in fact, that we lose, not how we lose.
Ugly wins with a strong D and uninspired offense is something I can live with.
Losses with the same formula, however...

I agree that the offense is shite and its on Gus but that has nothing to do with this thread. Its just a repeat of every thread on this board
My point is why would someone want the Oregon coach at Auburn? Its just a repeat of Gus. A inexperienced head coaching project. And if you dont think his performance in the first game lost that game to us, there is no need to discuss it further. He had a opportunity to run the clock out and had his QB throwing the ball down field to get intercepted. But whatever you think
Im just saying, if you are going to spend a shite ton of money to get rid of a coach that has done better than your program average, took you to Championship game, something that you have only done once before in 50 years, then it had better be a big step up. I dont see the Oregon coach being that. Its just another big unknown. He has no resume to do so

There are competitive games, and then there are games where we cannot get get our offense/ defense/ team off the ground. Some I don’t mind if I like the effort and see performances that promise more will come.
2013 LSU game comes to mind. Started off horrible but roared back and fought til the end. Our big run followed.

I’m just for a more rational pay package.
Make it where results determine total compensation.
A 3 million dollar base with escalators for division, conference, and national titles.
For a nattie, 10 million total comp.
For a conference, 7 million
For a division, 5 million.
For 8-5, 3 million.
