Like I said Kiffin is the only difference maker. Maybe the Troy hc but auburn isn't a program that should be going after maybes. Chip Kelly is washed up and Petrino is old.

There is lot of proof to suggest that the extension was Leath's decision. Its very hard to imagine that Jacobs, who was already halfway out the door, had any power to make a move of that magnitude.

Never will happen.
A school is NOT going to fire a coach for having his first possible sub or even .500 year. He just went to the SEC Champ last year and won the west, beating Alabama in the process.
The money is definitely another issue. This AD is really frugal and will not allow a buyout of that magnitude coming from donors who have the big bucks. And its more than a school like Auburn with even his high dollar donors want to cough up.
No, he will get a year to get his coaching staff in order, possible change the offensive philosophy and evaluate him next year on improving in those areas.
