Probably so. Unfortunately with the other coaching jobs available I am afraid that we will wind up hiring a head coach from a lesser school or someone's OC or DC.

I hate it because he shouldn't be allowed in Auburn gear, but I agree. There's more of a chance he finishes the year than gets fired tomorrow. Im no insider but apparently someone connected to Auburn has a soft spot or is still fooled by this close bs

Jake Crain said a source is telling him Hugh is gone.

I think he meant it's imminent. Not official yet obviously.

If they wait then Durkin won't be the interim & potentially do a great job in order to be named the next coach. I have a couple of others that would be better in my mind.

Not wanting Durkin to do well and win the fanbase is the only explanation for Durkin not taking over after UGA.

This may sound like a dumb question but can a HC be removed from his duties and responsibilities (placed on administrative leave, temporarily reassigned, etc) without being officially fired? Does it depend on the language in the contract?

I'm asking because I wonder if the PTB can do that to Hugh and then officially fire him after the season to mitigate the buyout.

I'm thinking TPTB wait until after the Vandy game so the interim coach has a bye week and then Mercer to ease them in before the IB.

If he’s not gone by EOD tomorrow, I’m out the rest of the season or until they make a change.

This is my fricking team. I’m an alumni, I’m married to the team no matter what. Not Hugh Freeze’s team. I’ll not watch anymore of an overpaid scumbag coaching my team.

Your move Auburn. Get behind Auburn people or support a POS scumbag that has dragged us to the worst we have been since Shug took over over 75 years ago.

If Freeze is not fired sometime today, then Cohen needs to be removed as well.

I don't really get the disdain for Cohen. he was hired right before Freeze was hired and it seems like one or more prominent boosters were the reason that Freeze got hired. I get that he's the AD but he may not be 100% calling the shots about when Freeze gets fired if the booster thing is true. Has he done anything else that warrants being fired other than the Freeze fiasco? if not, then i'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Zero. I’ve given up on whoever is pulling the strings to do the right thing.

I feel like he will be fired after the Vandy game to give DJ time during the bye week to prep and give the players time to process it.

Hugh needs to be gone today but it’s not going to happen.

Nah, kick his arse to the curb too. Moving Baylor game, jacking prices while putting up a shite product, not firing Hugh when all the signs point to future failures...

Moving Baylor game

Yeah that put up a lot of red flags. The city of Auburn and surrounding areas will lose millions of dollars because of that.

Probably not. Any half decenct agent/lawyer would put x that out on any contract for their client. They only get paid if their client gets paid.

They can’t give him the chance to win that game. Then you can’t fire him after a win. Just fire him now.

For some reason, I'm not too concerned about that scenario.
