Nix vs Pappoe
Both have been starters since first game of freshman year. Both coached by totally different styles in coaches. Who has played better? Who has developed more?

Serious question would like others input before I give my opinion

I have not been impressed with Pappoe, at all. He takes himself out of plays often. He had several chances at tackles for loss today and whiffed...............one the RB was stoned at the line. Pappoe totally missed him from behind.

Bo is Bo right now. He played well today, but he wasn't asked to do a lot except manage. That is what is needed on a weekly basis right now from him, IMO.

re: Nix vs Pappoe
Neither player has really developed much at all, if any.

Pappoe is right behind our lack of defensive line talent, depth, and experience as a major reason for our terrible defensive play (along with the rest of the linebackers mostly).

Nix is still making all the same mistakes he was last year, he's an average game manager QB with decent wheels right now. He made an outstanding throw on the last TD pass that won the game today, but otherwise wasn't really asked to make challenging throws really. He's going to need better coaching to become a top level SEC QB.

re: Nix vs Pappoe
Pappoe seems to be guessing and thinking too much. On stunts, when he knows what to do, his athleticism shines. As mentioned, he also doesn’t have the luxury of a Derrick Brown to eat up blockers.

AA7 very very good point. Brown did not have to make the tackle, just hold the point of attack, keeping the linemen from making secondary blocks and forcing the back around where the hole should have been....enabling the linebacker to make the tackle.

Pappoe has regressed. Nix is still inconsistent

Pappoe can't do what KJ does in the middle.

We miss that rock at LB. Pappoe seems to still not be disciplined in his play, as he gets blocked out or guesses wrong too much on plays around him.

He may be out of place at times, if Steele is moving him around.

Pappoe hasnt regressed, he is just taking on more and doesn’t have Britt to help him. He is still mainly an athlete playing linebacker. Last year, he had very simple assignments and was able to just play. This year he has much more responsibility and just hasn’t mastered it yet, so he is thinking more and not able to just react.

Is Britt on the sidelines helping out? Maybe they need to rethink things is he's not there. It's like a QB that gets benched for a few games that hangs around and supports the new QB by offering words of advice.

Agree with this opinion. I know Pappoe was a recruiting get but he plays like a true sophomore. Obviously a very gifted athlete and will increase his production with experience. Really hard worker too but even McClain (#9) seems more instinctual at this point with the naked eye.

If Morris will keep Nix at 25-30 throws a game and have him manage the offense rather than his QB-focused chuck-and-duck we can get to 7 wins. Tank is a generational type guy so give him the rock. He reminds me of Walter Payton because he breaks so many tackles and his yards after contact.

Thanks for the honesty in the opinions. Mostly agree here to the takes. Nix and Pappoe are playing like normal true sophomores. Both have some good games both have some great games and sometimes but rarely have horrible games. McClain has taken KJ’s spot not pappoe. But he has been asked to play at the end of the LOS some this year for pass rush abilities.

To further the questioning some well not some but many think Bo should be much further ahead because of games played but isn’t because High school coach and all. So is that the case with Pappoe? Because Steele and T-Will get much respect on the board.

I think everyone compares Nix and other young QB's to Clemson getting lucky with two back-to-back talents. Its the ACC, but wait until they have a Barrett Trotter. It will happen to Alabama too.

Nix is on track, and Morris asked him to do too much. Morris is a good coach so he adjusted. None of this stuff is splitting the atom. Tank is a coaches career-maker too. That kid is Gayle Sayers/Walter Payton.

Agreed. Both are on track. Now will they live up to 5 star potential we have no clue. No one thought D. Brown would be special until his junior year.

We need some game changing WRs. If you add that to our offense boom it takes off. Just think if we just had 3 guys the caliber of Seth on each play. Heck if we just had 2. I’ve been liking the Schwartz out routes, stops, and come backs the past couple games. Maybe he can develop better route running. Seems to be improving. It is time to turn the corner on offense tho. Consistent drives and more touchdowns against better defenses.

Seriously?

May want to speak for yourself. Derrick Brown was only our 2nd highest rated high school recruit in 247s history.

5*
#1 player in Georgia
#3 DT
#6 Overall player in the country

Yeah, no one thought he would be special. LoL

You can't be serious... People expected him to step right into the starting spot vacated by Montravius Adams.

Besides the fact that Browns stats are almost identical in year 2 as year 3...

You've really gotta stop posting complete nonsense like this if you want anyone to take you seriously.

What did he do his freshman or sophomore years to say yep this dude is everything we thought he would be? I’m talking Brown here. You guys don’t remember coach G bitching everytime he could about Derrick needing to mature. Change his body. And so on. Of course you guys don’t because you don’t live in reality. You live in some fantasy world. And what he was ranked coming out of high school has nothing to do with his production on the field. And yes being serious.

Seriously!!!

re: Nix vs Pappoe
And the stats argument is isn’t valid at all because it not like any year he racked up 80 tackles. Jeff Holland was on the line his sophomore year and allowed brown to be free. His junior and senior year’s Derrick had to work through double teams continually to make plays. Huge difference.

I’m not saying no one thought he had potential... 5 star potential. I’m speaking of impact on the field. It was his junior year before he started playing like a 5 star.

I see you went and actually looked up the stats for his sophomore year after making that dumb comment and are now trying to backtrack. He had a fantastic sophomore year and everyone knew he would be very good then. I could easily make the argument that his sophomore year was better than his junior year. But keep up with the elitist thing you like to do. We will keep living in reality.

re: Nix vs Pappoe
Lol well some think Pappoe has regressed but I bet his stats will say otherwise at the end of the year. When speaking of stats it doesn’t always tell the entire story. It’s more impact. Brown was much more impactful in the entire game his junior and senior seasons then his freshman and sophomore seasons. That’s just reality. Like I said Browns break out year wasn’t until his junior season regardless of his stats. I don’t back track so keep wishing. I watch each game generally multiple times.

Just like our previous game with OM Pappoe was the leading tackler (stats) but didn’t really make an impact on the game. So stats are very misleading in a lot of ways.
