MAybe he's a great poker player...
I've seen too many of these scenarios where the body language didn't equal the result...
My body language says Cristobal stays bc I havent heard one rumor or so called inside info that he wants to coach in the south.
I believe this is typical, "i'm interested, but I really want to stay put, if they come close to what Auburn is offering". Oregon will do just that...
But that's just my body language talking...

I am not saying he will be AUs coach. I watched the video and can't see how you can write an article from the Oregon side and feel 100% he will be your coach by Sunday. Had he said "We are working on an extension and I will sign tomorrow" then yeah. Beat writers for sport teams is low on the journalism ladder regarding talent.

Agreed. While not as good of a recruiter, I think the argument can be made Napier is the superior coach. And a lot cheaper.

I think I hinted very hard at it the morning of the firing. Way before anything was mentioned on the boards or twitter. (See thread Gus Rumor) I said the BOT had 3 members that was willing to pony up the money now. Not saying I'm an insider but Auburn isn't as locked down as hard as you guys try to make it out to be. People talk and some of us do know people that are close to the program. At this point I have no idea who the possible coaches are. Only thing I heard Sunday morning was Cristobal and Napier with Cristobal being #1. And that's what I stated early Sunday morning.

You and Meta take message board posting too serious. This is entertainment for us at best. You guys (just a general you guys) can scream Gus is getting fire for 5 years straight without us calling BS. We know eventually you will be right. Best to get a laugh from this board.

I have come to terms with Napier being the guy if Nike ponies up and pays Mario. Napier really would be a very solid hire in my opinion (which matters A LOT) with quite a bit of upside similar to Mario - age, recruiting, been a part of successful programs. As long as it's either one of them, or someone better, I'll be a happy Tiger.

Not only has Cristobal been contacted, he has been offered. So now what does that say about him coming out last night and trying to imply that he hasn't talked to anyone, but he's not sure if his agent has. Use your noggin.

I was the biggest Gus supporter on the board. So don't drop the you been calling for Gus to be fired. Like I said check out the "Gus Rumor" thread and what I said that morning. Way before any reports or rumors of him getting fired. No I didn't say he would be fired but said that there were 3 BOT that would pony up the money.

I always can't figure out why you always get down votes, no matter what you say. SOmeone just doesn't like you. HA.
Nothing wrong with your comments. I agree, the Auburn PTB will NEVER agree on anything. They didn't 40 years ago, 30 years ago, or even now. Money creates factions. Power creates it too.
I just think if we are being sensible, that no matter what happens if Cristobal stays, to do the next best thing for the future of this football team, it DOES NOT include making Steele the HC.
If that becomes their second option, then firing Gus was wrong.

Again, you need to calm down. The main function of any message board is for people to post ideas and comments. Nothing more. Feel free to post yours, but stop getting your feelings hurt. It will be a better experience for you.

I get downvotes because I don't follow the board narrative on everything. Mob mentality. Because someone might have a different opinion from them. The downvotes don't bother me. Doesn't make sense but the childish personal attacks is silly.
At this point I don't care. Just come on here share info, participate in basketball game discussion. There was no serious conversation in football because it is/was Gus sucks every post. The next 3 years will be Gus is at fault blah blah blah. When reality is next years team is fairly loaded with experience. Do we keep enough talent? Not sure but like I said should be preseason number 2 in the west and probably around 12th in the nation.
