quote:Plus he's a sleeze bag and fricked every employer going back to FLA, eventually. Tebow graduated, had no answer, so he had "health concerns". Ohio State, he turned a blind eye to his assistant beating the shite outta his wife, Jaguars, lost a shite-ton of games and stuck his finger up the arse of young girl at his bar. That idiot had Tebow and Cam on his roster, and let Cam go to JUCO! Tebow was an NFL bust, Cam was an NFL MVP. No thanks on Urban.
I couldn’t get on the Urban Meyer train dude is a prick and abuses players.

When Lashlee brings Kodi back, do you think he will be OC?

What’s disgusting is hearing all of that and being okay with it. Just makes me sick.

Urban's coach for S&T, had some criticism from former players. Downright sadistic at times. One kid was pushed so hard he ripped a quad off the bone this was at OSU. I can't find the video anymore but looked at it years ago when it came up about his abuses with letting that assistant hang around.
There were a ton of stories that broke on him around that time. Some things he did sadistically to interns etc.
He may win but I am not sure it would be a good cultural fit and if we turned a blind eye to it for winning...I don't know If we would be Auburn anymore or what makes us that special.

Rumor since Saturday is representatives for Dabo have reached out to Auburn. Anyone else heard this? I saw it on Twitter via The Next Round.

Dabo
I'd rather hire Carnell.... but Dabo certainly knows how to endear himself to his team and let coordinators do their job. His rise at Clemson is that rare coaches story that shows a coach can recover from the first 2 or 3 years being mediocre to poor. I always admired the Clemson AD for sticking with him.
Not that anyone cares about my lurking opinion, but I wanted Hugh Freeze the moment he was fired from Ole Miss. I hoped Gus would hire him directly as OC. We would still be picking our rivals from the spikes of our cleats if Freeze was running the offense under Gus. I hope we just go with Freeze if Lane starts playing hard ball. I think Hugh is actually the better coach, and both have baggage.
But I will always wonder would could have been with Prime. Someone else will hire him, and when they burn all of college football to a cinder while we cautiously improve with whichever experienced candidate we hire, I will be quietly grieving.

Tebow was an NFL bust
Tebow may have been an NFL bust but he was still damn good in college and would be today.
That size at QB with decent running ability and decent throwing ability is a nightmare to defend at the college level. In the NFL not so much it just doesn't translate.
Is still crazy with the amount of shite swept under the rug by Urban that Cam Newton stilling a laptop got him a ticket to JUCO.

Kiffin - damn good coach and would do well at AU... may be overly expensive but not my checkbook
Freeze - I agree great coach also. The money we would have spent on Kiffin used to buy players for Freeze would probably be a winning strategy
Dabo - I have no clue why he would come here but you never know. We should at least pretend like we're courting him so Kiffin cant wreck us in negotiations
Fickell - I'm worried about his lack of SEC time. All Ohio... Otherwise pretty solid and we should at least court him.

Willis. A guy Gus wouldn't let sniff the field.
Willis is certainly not a starting QB in the NFL. He is a backup project.

I get it. Charles isn’t wrong I’d love Deion, but it’s just not going to happen. Plus Deion already said he’s not leaving Jackson State.

quote:Has he started games this season? Would he be in the NFL if he had stayed at AU? Willis was drafted in the 3rd round, from a school that just jumped to the FBS a couple of years ago. If Willis and Bo Nix had stayed at AU, would either have a snow balls chance in Hell to make it to the NFL?

The FACTS are, Gus has never developed a QB. Freeze took a guy who couldn't break past 3rd string at AU, and put him in the NFL. Bo Nix now has a good shot at the NFL.
