I trust we will come out more focused next game. Today was not the crisp 25 point win I was hoping for at all

A little help defense would be good. We've been beaten off the dribble several times today.

Was wondering the same. We played them like we would bama.

Well it’s a win. Ugliest 20 point win I’ve seen. Kelly played a great game.

We’d better get MUCH better quickly or Creighton will boot us out of this thing by 20.

Chaney is hesitant to go up strong with the ball ever since he got a dunk stuffed against somebody recently. It's in his head

hoping that Creighton’s impressive showing was more the product of an overrated Louisville who feasted on a horrible ACC this year

what McNeese has been doing to Clemson gives me hope thats the case

If they beat their guy off the dribble, it was an easy layup every time. At least make them make a pass.

Watched it for the most part on my phone at work, muted. So I can’t tell if we sounded as crappy as we looked.

Someone please tell me we were just toying with ASU and that wasn’t our best effort.

Looking at the box score, bright spots are it looks like CJ and TP snapped out of their funks. Other than that, best sunshine I can come up with was we played like crap in our first round game the year we went to the Final Four.

This looked like a late noncon/early con game: play disciplined for a couple of minutes, go on a run, figure out you can out-athlete the opponent and start playing "highlight-ball."

Things get tight and you pull away again.

It's not a great recipe, but it works for this team because it stems from confidence. When they are confident, they are the best team in the country. That's been lacking the last few weeks.

Happy to see Chaney back to form and Mile getting his stroke back. That will pay HUGE dividends down this stretch.

That was probably the lone bright spot. It is what has been missing in most of these losses. We need Chaney, Pettiford, Cardwell, Denver etc to go for like 12-16 pts when Broome and CBM have off games where they aren't scoring like they normally do to pick up the slack.

The 7 footer really stifled Broome but I think he is the one who fouled out with like 10 minutes to go. CBM was abysmal on both ends of the floor. Nobody was good at the free throw line.

Kelly started out 4/4 or 5/5 from 3. I'm not sure that ASU wouldn't have stepped on our throats and beat us if it weren't for the cushion his hot start gave us. Definitely gotta pick it up Saturday. Creighton matches up physically much better than ASU, so we are gonna have to execute on offense and wake the frick up on defense or we will get beat.

Creighton Torvik below

Below average offensive rebounding team is great news.

One of the worst teams in the country at getting to the foul line.

Considering those are our weaknesses on defense, that is great news.

They shoot a TON of threes though, so a high variance team. Have to respect their ability to shoot.

Offensively, you aren't gonna get much easily with Kalkbrenner lurking. Have to have a decent outing from 3 PT range and/or nice days from our secondary scorers like Kelly/Pettiford/Jones/Chaney/CBM. If 2 of those guys have a good day we will win. If 3 or 4 of them have a good day we win going away.

Why doesn't Cardwell bounce the ball before shooting a free throw? He gets the ball from the ref and goes right into his shooting motion.

not that he was correct, but I seem to recall that the General Bob Knight preached NOT bouncing the ball the the FT line.

CBM needs to get his head out of his arse. He and Broome sucked today, compared to how they are capable of playing. Miles Kelly balled out and if I were him I’d get up in their arse a little bit. We are not the same team as we were in February.

I think we see a little more pace on offense and extended pressure on defense on Saturday.

Defense is what will take us where we want to go. Intensity and effort.
