No it just sounds like it could change what position he coaches. Feels like Hugh just wants him on staff and will find a spot for him. What that looks like idk. Curious if Hugh ends up letting the defensive staff get an extra spot in all the shuffle and take over QBs with Kent Austin being his unofficial QB coach or something. Although that muddies up the defensive side. You’d have to give Kelly the Edges and have Kiffin (or whoever) solely DC. This is all dependent on no further shakeup which isn’t a given.

I mean McGriff and Etheridge were already sharing DB's.

So McGriff comes back and coaches CB's and Kelly coaches Safeties (which is what he was doing at Bama).

There isn't any shuffling required.

This was also posted on the On3 board, and Hoke responded that there might be temporary unrest, but we’ll be fine.

This is how I think the coaching staff fills out -

Head Coach - Hugh Freeze
Associate Head Coach/Safeties/Special Teams Coordinator - Charles Kelly
Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs - Derrick Nix
Defensive Coordinator - Chris Kiffin
Quarterbacks - Kent Austin
Offensive Line - Jake Thornton
Wide Receivers - Marcus Davis
Tight Ends - Ben Aigamaua
Cornerbacks - Wesley McGriff
Defensive Line - Jeremy Garrett
Linebackers - Josh Aldridge

I am just confused on what exactly Zac has done that deserves him being let go.

You don't always lose a job for something you've done.

(or not done)

Or even how you played the game.

3 straight losing seasons. No one should be safe that has been a part of that. I love Zac and Caddy but program over coach. I think Zac is very talented.m and has a very bright future

Starting to think this might be a little deeper than that. Phillip Marshall has alluded to the fact that this not simply a case of Hugh Freeze wanting them to go. No evidence to back this up, purely speculation, but I wonder if the whole Jarquez issue was trying to be swept under the rug and hidden from Freeze and the university.

They are dropping hints that its more than just wanting new position coaches. I think its BS to do it like that though, either say something or say nothing but the whispering doesn't help anyone.

For sure. Was just not trying to get the cart in front of the horse on the ZE stuff.

So grand scheme. If ZE does end up getting let go as well and Crime comes back, I could see Kelly replacing ZE and Crime coming back to his normal position. So, that makes sense to everything going on. That would leave LB's as a hole and our DC, which make smore sense around Kiffin as DC. He has a history with LB's and pass rush/DL.

There is no hole at LB. Aldridge is not going anywhere.

Here is your staff if its Kiffin:

DC & Edge/OLB - Kiffin
DL - Garrett
LB - Aldridge
CB - McGriff
S - Kelly
