That's an older map. South Carolina has legalized medical mj.
Based on walking around downtown Charleston last week, either a lot of folks have their medical card or there isn't a lot of enforcement on recreational.

You might want to consider a civics lesson on how a bill becomes a law.
Not getting political but the president has to sign that into law, correct.
Unless you’re saying the president failed to sign it within 10 days while Congress was in session, or congress got 2/3 of the vote to make it a law?

I'm saying is the President gets call out for not being bipartisan. It appears that the House controled by Dems and the Senate controled by Reps. gave him a piece of bipartisan legislation and he signed it.

Oh, so if the house passes a bill, it automatically is law?

I didn't mean Trump personally did this, but he definitely 100% supported it and was proud of the law. I was pointing out it happened under his first term so it had been a federal law for a good while now.
Jesus.

Yes, it is illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone under 21 years old in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, including on military bases.
It used to be illegal to buy or sell tobacco under the age but it wasn't illegal to actually have it. I know it sounds stupid but there wasn't ever a possession of tobacco charge when I was a kid. I used to go to the Dothan Peanut Festival and go around and get bags of chewing tobacco and dip for my dad's workers when I was about 6 or 7 years old lol.

Make it legal… more pot heads. Sounds like a great society
The data from states that have fully legalized it show a dramatic drop in alcohol abuse and opiate abuse, plus showing lower rates of minors using cannabis since there is less black-market product available to them in those states.
Sounds like a great society, indeed.

So your saying that data is coming from the states that legalized it?

Thanks. Give some years for your education (how I ended up at Auburn) Great way to get educated. Worked out for both of us. They even sent me to get a Masters & to many nice vacation spots over the years, ones with people who just want a moment of your time and to stand still while they aim some stuff your way!
More scared of the night traps in storms than any combat.

For all you pot heads...
From the NIH...
Results
The extant literature provides some evidence for both substitution (i.e., more liberal marijuana policies related to less alcohol use as marijuana becomes a substitute) and complementary (i.e., more liberal marijuana policies related to increases in both marijuana and alcohol use) relationships in the context of liberalization of marijuana policies in the United States.
So essentially is a personal thing about substitution or complementary. Some users use less alcohol when they smoke and some use both. But for sure we need more intoxicants. Add those to the over medicated from pill pushing doctors and basically about 70% of the country is addicted to some form of depressant.

Not everyone who smokes pot is a pot head just like not everyone who drinks is an alcoholic. Im 53 and have smoked since I was 16. I raised 3 kids, coached all the rec sports, im happy and i live a comfortable life. i don't see why it's okay for someone else to go to the store and get a 6er but i can't pick up a blunt without going to see a guy named Cajun that has a wobbly porch and sketchy spot at the entrance of his trailer. It just doesn't seem fair

Would be curious to see some of the research on that. I remember a few studies not that long ago that said the states that had fully legalized it hadn't seen a huge drop in the black market for it because the taxes and other costs associated with the legal weed make it more expensive than the black market version.

Everyone loves comparing a sixer to pot.
There are still huge differences and the differences are noticeable in your community. Pot isnt as voodoo as it used to be but if society is going to smoke it like they live in the projects then the people are still hoodlums. If they are going to be respectful and ventilate their area then be my guest. I lived with a roommate- a professor that smoked and you would've never known it. But if the smell from the neighbor is making its way up the street with the wind then its no longer just a sixer. It's a nuisance and its trashy.
