Are you in one? How is it? What is involved?

In following the serious responses in this thread, I always list Sam's Club under organizations to which I belong.

Are clans considered clubs?
Might open up the discussion.

I attend the Southwest Ga Auburn Alumni Club events when we have gotten good coach representation. I didnt attend many under Chizik/Tuberville bc they never came to any. I think Gus might realize that there is indeed some rich football talent that UGA/FSU has been taking advantage of the last 30 years. Pat Dye recruited here heavily & he was the last one to do so from Auburn.

Being that being a member of the general alumni association I guess I am still a part of the Atlanta Auburn Club. They are pretty active (I'm not).
Their big spring fundraiser for a few years was renting out one of the big exhibit halls at Cobb Galleria for the Atlanta Tiger Trek stop. They would have several vendors set up, a Tiger Walk and a nice autograph table with former players. The raptor center would typically bring Tiger or Nova, and for spring 2011 they had the BCS trophy there.
With Gus they haven't done that (not sure why) but last year the event with Gus was at Stats sportsbar downtown and this year it is at Druid Hills CC (not next week, but maybe the week after).
They also have a golf tournament and the past few years have organized a couple of bus trips to games. I know they typically do a bus to Athens, they did one to Knoxville last year and may even do one a year to Auburn.

I was in an unoffcial Auburn car club when I was there. They're official with the school now.
Go cruise around with them for some vehicular hilarity.

I am on the board for Wiregrass auburn club and we have Malzahn coming Wednesday for a speech. We also gave a golf tournament each year that is the big fundraiser.
Just as a member, there is nothing to it. A few meetings a year. As a board member, we have several board meetings a year and some planning for the big events.
