that 2009 team felt like they could have easily either went 5-7 or 10-2. I remember watching both the UGA and Bama games and felt like both slipped away.

Auburn was bad in 2009.

they had Ben Tate and that's enough for me damnit

honestly it was just refreshing to see an offense that looked competent after 2008. The defensive issues that started that year were long-lasting though.

Yea, that UGA game was lost on one play and the Bama game was just attrition. We ran out of defensive guys and we just wore down. Was a great game to be at up untii the swing pass..

Maybe but I had fun watching that season. It could have been better but there were some great moments in there.
I concur.

I was working the night shift that fall, and some of those early night games were an absolute blast to listen to on the radio. It was so refreshing to see an offense that created mismatches and exploited them, and used tempo to wear down opposing defenses.

Wish we could get the guy who designed that offense back.

FWIW JGT says expect SEC to make an announcement on a 10 game only or 10 +1 non con game schedule today

Schedules still expected to be totally revamped.

AU still wants UNC & that's part of a hold up between a con only sched or 10+1 sched.

Says the time table can change again for a decision with teams like AU holding out for 1 noncon game.

The ACC already said non conference games have to be played in the ACC teams state. So would Auburn be willing to play in NC or are they trying to still get it played in Atlanta?

He didn’t see but to me Charlotte seems like a solid alternative.

Not sure what to make of this Or how it works but JGT is saying Auburn and UNC are fighting to keep this game because they have some kind of relationship and were also planning to play some kind of basketball series between the two schools at some point.

Also 2015, FWIW another poster who usually has good info says auburn is definitely willing to travel to Charlotte to play this game.

Panthers are scheduled to play the Raiders on 9/13 @ 1:00.

That would be a quick turnaround for the facility, especially if they have to deep clean locker rooms, etc.

But I guess the date could be flexible based on how other games are scheduled.

The bigger problem is the field of play. I don't think the Panthers would want their home field torn up by the AU/NC game.

I did one of the dumbest things that day of my life. WE left the car at the hotel in downtown and took a taxi to the game. We were planning on partaking in the pregame activities and didnt want to drive back after. Just planning on catching a taxi or bus back.

After the game, it was 3.5 hours before we could get a ride back to Tampa. I was cold, wet and totally exhausted and so was my wife. Once we finally got back to the room, we crashed. Missed all the night games. LOL

Apparently JGT was expecting the opponents, but not the actual schedule, to be named for each SEC team yesterday but didn't happen because apparently administrators were not happy with SOS disparities between teams.

If these guys do anything to favor the teams that were predicted to be in the hunt for an SECC berth, then I'll know it was rigged.

It's obvious someone is going to be terribly unhappy, it just matters who has more clout...

How fricking depressing must it be to be Vandy or Arkansas’ AD during that discussion?
