You can not just cater to the ones of you who want to slam beers at the games now. There are more involved.
Students have been getting drunk as shite at games since games started.
It all boils down to not wanting to offend the blue haired money givers that will get tipsy every Tuesday at their bridge game. It's the South's(at least Alabama's) finest hypocrisy on full display.

He is a blithering moron and our BOT is to blame for his hiring.... His issues at ISU should have procluded him from even being a candidate

Agree but you may have missed my point. As for him, he cant just make a snap decision. Those Blue haired money givers, as you called them, are what keep the wheels going. Its a very important piece that can not be overlooked weather you like it or not
Money makes the wheels go round and round. Not "legal" drunk students

I’m cool with no alcohol... keeping college football from turning into NFL-Lite is fine with me.

Sounds like a preemptive move in the interest of public safety in case Amen Corner doesn't go well this year with Gus still being the Auburn coach.

I would’ve been drunk as a skunk during the Auburn LSU game last year. It was incredibly hot and the cold beer would’ve gone down like water.
This is the reason i want no part of this. I dont drink but my entire family does. I have no issue with drinking.
What i have issue with is with how pissed off obliterated idiots (not calling you one) can get especially when they get set off about a football game.
In oregon they didn't sell alcohol in the stadium but they would let people go out to the tailgate sections during half time. So naturally people went out and drank as much as they could and the 2nd half of games in Autzen when the Ducks would lose was just an awful place to be with your family. My son who was 7 at the time and i literally got spit on by other duck fans because i wasnt upset enough about a missed call.
When they do offer alcohol in JHS...well... Im just glad i have a 55 inch LCD with surround sound. Because i certainly wont be going back until my daughter is old enough to stay home by herself.

I'm perfectly fine with no beer, shitty concourses, bench seats and the like if the tickets were still 30-50 bucks.
But when games have NFL prices people are going to start expecting NFL amenities.

Overall I could care less if they allow drinking in the stadium. Im neutral. I probably wont drink in the stadium either way. There is plenty time for drinking, when the game is done and before
But I still say its a bigger issue than just finding a vendor and installing a tap

At $8 per beer, is it really a necessity?
I drink an occasional beer, but getting hammered on a 90+ degree day is not something I’m going to do.
The stadium may need bathroom upgrades and more security if we decide to move toward a beer garden atmosphere.

I get that this story involves alcohol, but binge drinking is significantly different situation than alcohol sales in a stadium

Arguably selling beer in the stadium could lessen the hammeredness of some. If you know you're going to be able to buy beer at the game, you might not slam 8 whisky drinks in the parking lot. I still will, but ya'll might not.

Sounds logical but I still think people will slam drinks in the parking lot to avoid 9.00 beers. I agree with the comment about the lines. Concession lines are crazy long now. Add beer lines too and the concourses will be a cluster f***. I've usually had all I need by game time but I wouldn't want to deny anyone else.

Think the bathroom lines are long now, wait until the beer sales start.

Good point. Could be amusing to watch the beer drinkers choose between the beer line and the pee pee line at half-time.
