Let me know what you think of Orange Beach vs 30A.
Will do. I have only been to 30A area once. A few years back we went to Santa Rosa. We stayed a half a mile from the beach and it was fine. I liked the restaurants around the beach. We actually went to one that eventually built one in Auburn. Stinkys Fish Camp. It was good right on the beach
This will also be our first time on Perdido Key. We are staying in a condo so it will not be the same kind of place we have here in Anna Maria. We have been to Anna Maria 25 times and this is one of my favorite places we have stayed. Its not on the beach but its a 8 min walk and the house is perfect..
I have always been more of a Tampa bay guy than a panhandle guy. Did most of our time from Clearwater down to Venice beach. Ive been to Destin, 30A, Panama and even Dauphin Island but never even stayed in Orange Beach before.
When we started our savings 20 years ago for a beach house, we knew we wanted to go somewhere that the weather was hot year round. I didnt see the point of moving to the panhandle when its cold in the winter. LOL
Are you looking to buy something or just looking for a vacation rental?

If you're looking to buy a secondary residence, Orange Beaches' property tax is about half of what you'll pay on the FL coastline. If it's your primary residence, FL has no income tax.
Let me know what you think of Orange Beach vs 30A.

I am going to tell you all something and you should all listen to me on this. I am experienced and I have done extensive research on this subject
Pay attention
There is no drunk. I mean no drunk at all that compares to a tequila drunk. It is the best and there really isnt anything comparable.
You are welcome

It can't be better than Zima and cocaine.

Didn't they stop making Zima?
(another reason I'll never have one of those)

Alright, so I was the only boat at the ramp on the river. Only a fool would run today. 25 bass later...
Caught mostly spots, a few Shoal bass, and a lone largemouth. Lost a really nice 3-4 pound shoalie after it put on a show jumping 2-3 times, right at the boat. Probably missed 10-15 and also burned it away from 20-25 dinks before they hit. Water was crystal clear, saw every strike and tons of follows.
I caught 17 and my 13 year old son caught 8. Also, had the old birds and the bees talk. Landed 2 fish during it.
Picture perfect day.
ETA- Tequila- I can't do it. I recently bought the wife (no pics) Patron for some cocktail she found, and I tried again. Not a fan.

I wish I could say Spot Stickers. 3 years ago or so, I grabbed an Academy H2O express Crul crank bait on a whim while stocking up on my normal spinner baits. Tied it on and caught 25-30 fish my first outing. It hasn't left my rod since and I'm guessing I've caught close to 300 on it since. I can't stop.
A few issues with the bait are, it's cheaply made, bounce it off something to hard, you'll break the bill, hooks are cheap and bend easily, and it's small enough that aggressive panfish will hit it, which after a dozen or so, gets annoying. If you make anything with a color pattern close, let me know.
Fishing report from yesterday- took the wife (closely cropped pic to follow) and the river was completely different than 24 hours before. The jackass dam operator decided to ruin the river about the time I left the house. Raised it 18" and made for a tough morning. Fell by the afternoon and we caught a few nice ones. My wife missed a monster at the boat (5ish lbs) and she's still mad. In fact, we missed more nice bass yesterday than I have in the last few years combined. I'm talking 25-30 lbs of fish. It was as frustrated as I've been in a while.
We swapped to new lures, concentrated on solid hook sets, just generally tried to keep the fish on...and we'd still lose some. Going to try to swap some hooks on these cheap arse baits, I guess. We didn't lose any of the freaking panfish and we would have had a cooler full if we kept them.
We did keep some bass, because the Mrs wanted fish tacos, been I while since I wielded a fillet knife and it looks like I filleted them with a weedeater. Guess I need a sharper knife.
Check out how dark this Shoal bass is.

Think I’m hitting the river again today. Looks like it’s a solo trip, at least the first half. If you’ve never been fishing solo, I recommend.

Swap them out with Mustad triple grips. Far and away my favorite treble hook.
