Jordan Hare Stadium North Endzone Renovation, to most likely get "Premium Seating"

From AD John Cohen

It’s a priority for me in some respects, for two reasons,” Cohen said. “No. 1, most of the facilities — Southeastern Conference football facilities — have multiple videoboards. So, that makes it a priority. The second thing that I understand about Auburn three months into this is that our demand for premium seating is at an all-time high. At this point, we have tremendous priority-seating opportunities, but can they be advanced?

Thoughts?

It’s all about big money and nothing about family anymore. Priced me out many years ago from
Even purchasing seasons tickets.

I’d love to see something done in the north endzone but would like an overall facelift for the entire stadium.

I mean I'm just glad they are finally filling it in, and tbh we aren't even selling all of the upper deck completely so why not go for the rich folks?

The big money pays for these projects, that is why.

A goal of a stadium renovation is always increasing revenue and more is generated through premium seating than just general admission seats.

I could see this going in one of several ways, and really none are horrible. I just don't know how you handle the engineering some of it would require.

1) Remove the bench seating below the walkway in sections 38-43 and convert that area to field level suites. You may have to reconfigure/rebuild the visiting locker room, but if you do that you could also add some premium food/drink options accessible to those suites like what you have in the southwest corner.

2) Take out the bench seating for a chunk of rows above the walkway in sections 38-43 and put in something like the Beckwith? Club section that exists on the east sideline. You'd have to expand/relocate the concourse, restrooms, concession stands that are there now to serve any regular seats that stay in that area. This could also impact visitor tickets/visiting band location.

3) Remove the top 10-15 rows from sections 38-43 and replace it with a large, level open area. Mount the new jumbotron there. Maybe terrace the front so you can have a few rows of premium chairback seating. Then scattered throughout the open area are some hightop tables with premium food and drink selections. Potentially even have Auburn based restaurants put in small locations. Liek how Mercedes Benz Stadium had a Fox Bros. BBQ (and now has Williamson Bros.) or Brusters Ice Cream. Maybe have a Chicken Salad Chick kiosk and a Full Moon BBQ kiosk.

I say go the opposite way. Undo all the previous improvements and let's make it the most old school spartan place in the country to play, and then let's play that way.

I too want the spartan style arenas. Like where the poor womens got their tits flopping out and everything.

Just makes it feel more at home.

I wouldn't go that far but man I hope Cohen and Co put some thought into how to overhaul in non-piecemeal fashion.

JHS is obviously functional and a good football environment, but in terms of appearance/design it's a complete mess because it's seen two decades of half-thought out upgrades.

A little brick here, a little iron there, some more concrete that doesn't match the current concrete, perhaps some gray cladding here for no reason whatsoever, and then painted steel over there. Oh, we need to update the signage. . Should we make it look a little retro, you know, to match the iron and concrete? Nah, let's use the bright orange aggressive modern Under Armor fonts on everything.

I know I remember from the plans under Jacob, that included moving the team’s locker room to the north endzone….you can see in the renderings in this link that they have them entering center of the field with field level seats on either side.

I thought that was the strangest part of the plans they initially released….why move the locker room. Would they just walk through what is the existing locker . room/player area across JHS then into the new locker room?

It would look rather cool to have them enter center field, just would turn everything pregame around. Kinda like them coming out on the same end as the student section and not sure how feasible it would be to move the students especially if you are planning on premium/club level type seating in the north end zone.

Yeah, that always was a head-scratcher with me. I wonder, now with the recruiting lounge under the south stands, if that part of the plan would be scrapped.

The original plans that got released with this rendering were fantastic. Added a lot of premium seating and I thought looked great.

Bricking the exterior alone will make a huge improvement on appearance.
