With what? Rodney Garner? If so, you might want to actually check this season's rankings:
You might want to check what Garner did with a lame duck HC before you shill someone already out the door.

Then why isn't he still doing it now? Is Josh Heupel a lame-duck HC? Tennessee was a big "upswing" program in the SEC heading into this past season.
Garner is old as shite and getting lazy. He did frick-all this year apart from sign the "5-star" Jordan Ross who Bama, Auburn, and Georgia didn't even care about (comical level red flags there). His other three signees were 3-stars.
You need to wake up realize that Carl Lawson signed nearly 11 years ago and Derrick Brown was 8 years ago.
I love the weak logic that Garner's recruiting success from a decade ago means he's an upgrade to Garrett...who wiped the floor with Garner just this past class. Garrett literally had two Top 100 guys and a third 4-star committed for 2025 as well. Garner has ZERO.
Even if Garner was still an elite recruiter (he's really not), his uber-abrasive coaching style means that half of his guys usually end up quitting anyway, which is kind of a big deal. What did Auburn get out of "elite" recruits like Elijah Daniel, Jaren Hardy, Jaren Handy, etc, etc, etc? shite, Zeke Walker is a Garner guy lol.

Early on Hoke was pushing Garner as 1b
and
Kyle Pope as 1a.
Who just started as DL Coach at Georgia Tech and coached LB at Liberty with Hugh

Timing wise it kind of sucks for us. Durkin hasn't been here long enough to really build relationships the recruits. I hope we pay whatever we have to and make this hire quickly. We have a good DL class committed and the last thing we need is for them to start decommitting.

Garner was responsbile for nearly every big player for us. I dont give a damn about Carl lawson being 11 years ago.
He was also primary for Tank Bigsby, Dontavious Russel, KJ Britt, Keiondre Jones, Jeff Holland, secondary recruiter for Derrek Hall, etc. Anybody that was relatively decent was probably brought in by the man himself. You should google the guy that brought in the juco DL that stocked Dollar General at night and turned him into a top three round pick. Or the Tyrone Truesdells out there that Garner developed to be nice players. Look at the rest of the 3 stars that actually ended up doing stuff. Malik Willis, Daquan Newkirk, Brodarius Hamm, Devaroe Lawrence, Shed Jackson, etc. The guy could recruit and he knew talent.
I dont know who your guy brought in but his recroots aint done shite yet. Always keep that in mind.
Now please tell me why some one year wonder is a big loss when CRG has been as consistent as a tick fricking tock at recruiting and developing.
What happened to our WR group being a clear upgrade from the prior year before? What happened to all of that WR experience? Riddle me that moron

Had you not said “moron” you might have won the room. Name calling? What is that? It’s beneath you.
Actually…name calling, it is you! Cheers!

Take very lightly the name-calling that I render upon the M4 of our board. He calls Garner verbally abrasive, but he is also very abrasive and his niche on this board is eviscerating awww shucks auburn fanboys from their biases that have protected their feelings. If he can undress them why wont he undress you next time? M4 has expected this kind of back and forth from me since 2015 when he argued Duke was the least talented 5* we have ever had.

frick off. RG is a legend. I’m lot saying he should be the hire because I worry about his age.
We definitely seemed a little soft on defense last year so a hard arse might be good.

The dead period also starts at the end of the weekend. Get as many of the DL on campus this weekend that’s committed if possible and assure them we will make a good hire. The timing is actually pretty good. You have a month

So shitty.

In all, Garner has helped the Tigers sign 38 defensive linemen over eight recruiting classes, or an average of nearly five per season. Twenty-seven of them were rated as four-star prospects or better. Four switched over to the offensive line while at Auburn and nine did not finish their college careers with the Tigers, but Garner has never once struggled to replenish talent up front.

Garner ranked No. 4 nationally in 247Sports’ recruiter rankings for the 2020 class. He has ranked as high as No. 2 (in 2016, when helped the Tigers land Brown, Davidson, Nick Coe and Antwuan Jackson Jr.) and never lower than No. 52 during his time on the Plains. There are 640 assistant coaches in the Power 5 conferences.

I just want the best recruiter & that can develop. If they are young and venture off to the NFL every few years, then that also says something about our hires...COME to AU we can get you in the league. We have a good track record over the past....I just want a recruiting dog...time to get a nasty D back & an O that can sustain drives & Freaking Score. Hopefully this is tied up soon.
