See, we’re not like other bands, Spots. That’s why we’re going straight to the top.

That list proves that racism (as a society) no longer exists in America.

99.9% of those names are just jokes about white skin. They are just color jokes and most are not slightly funny.

The real racist jokes would be a slight on our behavior wrapped up in a joke about our skin color.

The slur should make fun of our lack of dancing ability or how we use coupons or shop at target.

Example:
Klu Klux Karen is a great one.

But most of them are sad and clearly made by people who are not witty.

I would be embarrassed if I made any of that list. Not for the racism but for the poor sense of humor.

The "what if this was reversed" crowd is getting SO CLOSE to figuring out why this doesn't matter vs if it were reversed. But again, our public schools have failed us, and the rest of us are forced to roll our eyes at these questions and faux outrage every time something like this comes up.

There's a reason why this list makes most of you laugh and doesn't really bother you. For the love of God, educate yourselves as to why.

One side says you need to educate yourself, the other says the same.

Its just talking points that mean absolutely nothing. You can not educate someone to be a good human being. You either are or you are not.

Keep telling people to "educate" them selves and saying that you wouldnt understand are just words.

You are either going to be a good person and a contributing member of society or you are going to be a problem.

You are the only person who can decide that

Auburn has been having an incoming Black student issue for several years now. Last I saw Auburn was less than 6% black when it should be three times that. The university needs to figure something out to fix that. A hard slap on this non-issue won't help that end goal.

Auburn is a land grant university in a rural area, with heavy emphasis on engineering… AA student enrollment has always been low for these reasons.

But why? Why should it "be three tines that"? Why should anything be more black or more white?

Are you insinuating that Auburn is discriminating and not letting blacks in?

Do you know "why" the is? And why should the university "figure something" out?

I just dont get that thinking

the presence of the #3 HBCU in the nation, with 6k+ students (88% of whom are black) in the next county might have some slight affect on AU's demographics

But why?

Well for one, Auburn is a land grant institute funded in part by state tax dollars. 27% of AL's population is Black and help pay for a university with only about 4% representation.

And yes, Auburn's leadership and donor class has systematically capped the number of black students that have been admitted since integration. There have been groups who have worked to change that since the 70s with very little progress.

Please post any shred of evidence to this statement. I'm truly interested if this is indeed fact. Which I'm sure it isn't but want to see if there is something I don't know here.

We don't have George Wallace standing in the door and he and the entire Wallace clan are life long alabama fans and still are. However as far as I know any of them 50 and younger aren't racist like Ol' Georgey

debatable. Tuskegee is down the road and is also a land grant university that is a fourth the cost of AU per year. So if you want an engineering degree and want to save money. Tuskegee also has a vet school. I am not saying that AU should not have more minorities but there may be many reasons that it doesn't.

88 you are correct. Comes down to cost. Why so many undergrads are going juco and then transferring in. The students going to party fizzle out by the end of year 2, then influx of the juco transfers replace them.

11 of the 14 schools in the SEC has seen drops in minority enrollment because of cost not some boogey man
