Meh. I'm fine with Gus doing the developing at this point. What I'm not fine with anymore is Chip Lindsey. He needs to look for other opportunities after this season, IMO.

He isn't and never will be. IMO

He has all "The tools", but doesn't have the composure or toughness. I also don't think he has the leadership skills or fire in his gut. He is a solid QB though, that we should be able to win with.

I have watched Bo Nix numerous times and I will tell you that kid has fire in his gut to go along with the talent. We shall see, if he is good enough on the college level, but he won't fail due to these things.

I'm loving this Stidham bashing, white boy pocket passer (don't care that he's listed as dual threat because he's not), being made to run an RPO, and y'all think he's underwhelming.

He could throw for 400 yards a game if the scheme was tailored to him.

Does this mean Lanier is safe to post about DT QB's again?

Stidham is good, but he doesn’t have the ‘winner’ in him. He has only brought home the W in a close game once.

Clemson 17
LSU 17
uga CG 17 (close going to the 4th)
UCF 17
Wash 18 (got that one)
LSU 18

All other wins were when we got up big.

Stidham has two main issues, he gets flustered under pressure and he is terrible at anticipating/throwing a WR open. He throws when he see's someone open. The INT he threw to Slayton should have been put to the endzone. There was no safety over the top and Slayton was already behind the defender.

Gus would just replace him with another low-tier "yes man" to run his offense

I wanted Jake Spavitol. That would be a fun thread to bring back up

Stidhams issue is that this offense isn’t built for him. Gus has to have a dual threat for his offense to work at full potential. Stidham is a pure pocket passer but we only use him to throw screens and Bombs. The passing game is not creative at all.

He also is not good under pressure. And when your o line is the one he has now, you need to be ready for pressure.

LSU was sitting on and jumping routes just like they were last season. It was blatantly obvious that Arranda knows our whole passing attack backwards and forwards. Stidham looked much better during that mid-game stretch wherein we had them on their heels and could run plays off before they had a chance to digest them. It's silly to expect any QB to look good when the defense knows the routes and your HC is too obtuse to see that and adjust.

He had about a half dozen chances at deep td passes against LSU and missed all of them.

Stidham is elite as long as he has a clean pocket and doesn't scramble. He struggles seeing the field when he moves and doesn't have good pocket awareness.

Truth. You can see this a mile away. Cant believe how bad that throw was. That would have been an easy TD like you said.

Because he's not great. He's a good college QB right now. What he needs to do is stop getting happy feet every time a defender gets within 10 feet of him, keep his eyes down field, and deliver a strike to our open WRs.

He has all the tools but is lacking mentally.

We could live with the happy feet thing if he'd stop giving the other team the ball so much.

I don't know anyone that said he was 'great'. Just a very skilled QB that has a chance to be a 1st rounder.

He biggest problem is he does have a lack of ability to extend a play by his drive and need to make things happen. He has never been the guy to take over a game or overcome the pressure to find us a way to win (i.e. last half of LSU game).

I will say on the long pass that was intercepted, Lindsey said it was a planned back shoulder throw, but Slayton did a streak. Regardless of whether there was a safety, Stidham executed the play called.

Uh, say what now? Stidham can't find the pocket, he continuously refuses to step up into it, or if he does, time stops for him and he holds the ball too long. What I've seen is as soon as the DEs go out of his sight, he panics.

JS is 25-54 363 yds 2 tds 2 ints in 2 games vs LSU and hasn't looked good in our last 4 power 5 games.

He never should’ve been hired in the first place.

Give me Hugh Freeze, Kendall Briles or Art Briles. frick the backlash.
