We still have a bowl to look forward to, but how would you grade the season if we ended today?

The A&M loss sucked. Undoubtedly, the team was overlooking them. Losing like we did to UGA hurt too. The offense was disappointing in those games. And of course no one ever wants to lose the IB and we should have won it the way our offense played. A lot of people were concerned the team had given up, but Gus found a way to motivate them even though we were only playing for pride. That has to count for something.

We had the hardest schedule in the country.

I would assume this is one of, if not the toughest AU schedule in history.

Based on the AP poll, we beat the #9 and #13 teams on the road and beat #23 at home. We lost to the #1, #10, and #15 teams on the road.

Should we have lost 4 games, no, but we did. Did we expect too much this year considering who we lost to the draft and injuries? Probably.

If we end up hiring Muschamp and he can get AU back to playing the D of the Tubberville era, could this year be a blessing in disguise?

Taking everything into consideration, I give this season a B-.

We have a favorable schedule next year. If Muschamp is hired, we retain our current recruits and can add to it with a couple of 5 stars, and we avoid the injury bug and our current guys live up to their potential, we have a lot to look forward to.

C. We won some incredible games against good teams on the road. Also fun kicking the shite out of LSU. But we went 0-2 in the two most important games

Lost both of our rivalry games, one of them in embarrassing fashion.
Team as a whole very undisciplined at times with penalties and turnovers.
Losing to TAMU was ridiculous.

My thoughts as well.

This was one of the most frustrating AU teams to watch this season because you know they have the talent to beat anyone in the nation but just could not put all the pieces together. I am hoping we come back hungrier next season and get back to ATL as the schedule lines up a little nicer.

Also I am still pissed we scored 44 pts on Nick Saban and lost

C- to D

The schedule was tough, but ultimately we cost ourselves in so many game.

8-4 on the surface I could have possibly handled but the turnovers, penalties, regression on D that cost us games, and the laying down in the UGA game really burn me up.

B minus

Lost road games to 3 top 15 teams.

Lost a close game at home to a recovering team.

If we win the bowl, I grade us as an 84. Good solid B.

On defense, F.

Offense A minus

Special teams B

C minus for victories over Ole Miss, Killing LSU, and beating MSU. Had an A minus until we skipped class against TAMU and UGA. If we had beaten Bama it would have been a B minus.

C-

I felt the team that played early was good enough to make the playoffs, but knew our schedule was going to be tough as hell.

I was most disappointed in the way we played undisciplined football and it didn't look like we had great senior leadership which I was expecting to be really good.

With that said I still like this team and enjoyed watching them play the game.

Through the first 5 games, I felt like this team looked even better than the 2010 team because the offense was playing well and the defense looked actually surprisingly good. However, I feel like after the MSU loss, there were some cancers, specifically seniors, who threw in the towel and after the Texas A&M loss, everybody else did too. This season was simply an issue of attitude and determination. The players gave up trying to improve when they were out of the playoff hunt and the defense gave up on the 4-2-5. Returning to a 4-3/3-4 and hopefully having a better group of seniors to provide leadership will hopefully help for next year.

Our goal was to make the playoffs. We did not do that so it was a failure

C plus overall.

After it was revealed we had lost Kozan for the year and would get Lawson back only at the very end of the season if at all, and given our losses to graduation/NFL (particularly Parkey, Clark and Davis on ST) I picked us to go 9-3. Schedule was just too brutal, especially down the stretch.

If not for a pair of herp-derps in the red zone in the final 3 minutes of the TAMU game I would have been on the money.

So, while I'm deeply disappointed in the way we played in the second half, we more or less lived down to my expectations.

I agree with most of your points.

The Georgia and A & M games knock us down to a C- in my opinion.

Again, we are still ahead of where I thought we would be two years ago. Look at most programs where a new coach took over in a major conference, I still think we are on the right track.

Considering the high expectations, a 4 losses season is a complete failure.

Considering our QB set our passing record against a nationally ranked opponent in a game we were winning for almost 3 quarters then lost.

We lost a game due to special teams, defense and turnovers

We lost a game due to dumb penalties and turnovers that led to 21 points in about 3 minutes

We lost a game because didn't show up

If our losses were because we were outmatched it would be different. Nearly every loss was characteristic of a team unprepared, undisciplined and uninspired.
