Hey, I get it. But I'm just being honest. You'd rather I lied and pump sunshine instead?

That's not me.

Being in the stands when Hershel and Co. barely escaping Auburn and watching the stadium cheer for a team that just lost ... I'd say giving 40 years as a fan has earned me a stripe or two.

I told y’all that hiring Hugh Freeze was a terrible idea, and had the legitimacy of my Auburn fandom aggressively and hatefully called into question over it.

Too many sunshine pumpers and bootlickers on this board these days I won’t name any names, but y’all know damn well who you are

My point is to run that offense consistently you have to be able to punish cheating safeties with a good deep ball. Against cal with Ashford in the game the safeties were crashing into run support.

Ashford throws a good deep ball. But it’s midnight in Montgomery, and he only calls 4 pass plays a game for Ashford.

I strongly disagree. Saban lost to ULM in year 1 and had a better roster than Harsin left Freeze.

Freeze has instantly turned our recruiting the right direction and we whiffed on a bunch of transfer QBs. With Bo Nix or a better QB we have 14-21 pts in the first half against A&M and who knows how that game goes.

I can recall him throwing ~1-2 good deep balls total. One very very nice one against Alabama.

Not just Coordinators, but QBs come here and completely forget how to throw the ball.

Wait until film breakdowns start coming out. I'm not saying every play call was perfect last night, but all in all it was not bad. Thorne is struggling big time with the RPO offense.. I don't know what he ran at Mich St, but I but it wasn't RPO. On top of that he's letting the pressure of the moment and pressure during the game get to him. To give him a sliver of credit, I haven't seen him quit.. he was still willing to dive and got spun on that 3rd down, but its just not clicking in games for him.

This was just a complete rebuild. So far half of the team is rebuilt, but we missed on our QB transfer so offense is just going to be slow this year. Look at what Norvell is doing with FSU though.. they we're horrible his first couple of years and now they are maybe the best team. Our rebuild won't take that long though.

Getting killed with the blitz, no roll out passes. No short crosses or slants. Qb is so rattled he can't see anyone who's open

The play calling in response to all of the blitzing was mind numbing.

Sometimes WRs have to go make plays. I don’t know why we can never get a guy that can just go make a play. Seth is probably the only guy I remember that could.

I remember a color clip from Trooper Taylor's days when we had receivers who caught with soft hands and won the 50/50 balls routinely. Taylor said he had the receivers catch bricks for the soft hands and had them play against the BB team practicing rebounding.

Isn't the qb supposed to recognize that and make the proper adjustments? Idk honestly but it seems like that's something the qb should be responsible for.

I think you’re right about the rebuild, at least that’s what we have to hope for. Think just the way we’re playing right now is just so painful to watch. Zero offensive excitement and so many penalties, no rhythm or identity whatsoever. I think the crazy recruiting freeze was able to achieve in such a short time, coupled with the little bit of life we saw last year once Harsin left, gave everyone more hope than we should have had.

Also think it’s extremely frustrating we beat TAMU last year without a coach, and then we get absolutely embarrassed by them on Saturday. I understand circumstances, home vs away, etc. but those are the facts of what happened

I know under Gus’ system it was on the OC not the QB. Don’t know about Freeze

Specifically I recall PT sailing the ball over Jay Fair on a 5y crossing route. On a telegraphed blitz he had the back in the flat right behind the blitz... didn't deliver the ball. On the RPO when PT did a flip for the first down he had a wide open tight end right behind the defenders. Our leading receiver was a RB. Out of 6 completed passes by PT, at least four of them were screens or checkdowns to backs.

The fact is right now PT can't make a decision quickly enough in blitz situations even when the blitz is telegraphed, and he can't deliver the ball with any consistent accuracy beyond 5 yards. That's brutal to gameplan around and impossible at this level.
