Ponder that, “Brother” Hugh. Auburn ain’t paying you to save souls, they’re paying you to win fricking football games.

Never in my wildest nightmares did I think that an offense with Freeze as HC would look so conservative and putrid. Where’s the Freeze with the massive grapefruits that was throwing bombs on uat?

I think when coordinators come to Auburn they completely forget everything they knew prior and make stuff up as they go. I've seen more efficient high school teams and coaches. Getting killed with the blitz, no roll out passes. No short crosses or slants. Qb is so rattled he can't see anyone who's open

It looked bad tonight and I dont have hope for Thorne but its still consistent with my overall wide arching perspective that this year is going to suck regardless of who is at QB, and regardless of how great Montgormery is. The season would suck less with Ashford but Freeze couldve just showed loyalty to Ashford in the offseason and sell that if we arent landing huge QB recruits.

you need a QB that will take those shots.

Maybe call more than 3 pass plays for QBs other than Throne

dude, robby throws the ball worse than Thorne. Geriner is the only one on the roster with an arm. He is not playing for some reason.

Ashford has less than a 50% completion rate for his career.

Because he is worse.

And has not been given legit reps in practice

we don't know this. He was the one throwing at last years pro day. He is the one Hugh said has the best natural throwing motion in the spring. I am beginning to think Freeze is as stubborn as Gus.

Our QBs suck.

Run game looked good. Sliver of hope there.

Sometimes WRs have to go make plays. I don’t know why we can never get a guy that can just go make a play. Seth is probably the only guy I remember that could.

Because Ashford is better than him. Once again, Hooks catches the ball that hit him in the chest today, and there was a chance. I don’t care about completion percentage when half his throws were throwaways last year, because he was running for his life and nobody was open.

Once again, you’re reverting back to last season. How many turnovers does Ashford have this year? None. The offense moved with Ashford today, period. Holden had 1 good throw today and multiple bad ones. And he can’t run. He’s better than Throne, but he’s not going to do anything in an RPO offense. Defenses are so afraid of Ashford running that it was opening up big runs for the RBs. Like it or not, he’s the best we have right now. And Montgomery has to open up the playbook and let him go.

We’re going to completely ignore last year and praise him for not turning the ball over this year despite barely playing?

What?

I don’t know if you know this, but players do improve. Ashford has looked accurate on most of his throws this year. And he’s the best we have right now, as he was last season. Until that changes, you have to let him run the offense.

Right but usually we actually see the improvement before declaring he’s improved. Your one praise of him wasn’t he hasn’t turned the ball over this year. He’s barely thrown the ball…so congrats on not fumbling?

Jesus Christ…

Could be true. Just a sad truth.

This entire thread forgets to mention the absolute shite OL that we’ve had this year and last year. Our QBs might look vastly different if they aren’t scared out of their mind for being hit as soon as the ball snaps.

Darvin Adams and even converted qb Kodi burns made quite a few plays that even I can still remember.

Thorne is not playing great dude. Freeze does not even try to hide it. Freeze brought up the open receivers at least twice. He also said it appeared the OL did well picking up edge pressure, and focused more on the pressure "distracting" the QB.
