That game is going to help us out down the road somewhere. Man we were awful from the floor and the free throw line. Only player that balled out last night was Austin Wiley. He is finally getting to be a force. Samir and J'von were off last night, but I'm liking what I see from Allen Flannigan and Cambridge.

Samir barely outscored me. And I had less turnovers.

But a good win for the team after playing so poorly.

Furman was great at denying the post entry.
We tried to hard to force what they were taking away.

We drove at will. This team is very athletic. Sometimes you just have to go to the rim. It’s easier if the lane is clear.

I thought his hands looked soft under the basket. He rebounded well but for most of the game, he looked like last year. Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention.

FT will cost us.

13 points, 12 boards, 2 blocks, stayed out of foul trouble playing more agile post players, extremely efficient from the floor and line...I'm not sure what more we could ask from him. He doesn't have much of a back to the basket game in our O, but he is doing everything we could ask of him this year.

Purifoy, Samir and J'von all IMO had off nights and that cost us a easy 10-15 win.

Worst three shooting i've ever seen, but damn, we were tough under the boards.

I'm pretty shocked at how bad the FT shooting is. Maybe they need a fire lit under their asses (a loss) to get them to spend the time practicing at the line. This will cost us quite a few close conference games if not fixed in a hurry.

Shooting the ball was abysmal last night.

This team will survive on defense and rebounding.

Bruce said something along the lines of “Our guys are doing a pretty terrible job of getting Austin the ball”.

I was very happy with Austin last night yet again. His defense was special. In the first half I didn't think he could play with Gurley, who was twice as quick as him. But he ended up being very effective defending him. He also kept some huge possessions alive down the stretch rebounding to along with some easy buckets.

I absolutely love Bruce, but Bruce's offense struggles getting good looks for a traditional 5 man.

Our guys aren't very natural at it either, so that's not helping.

What's not going to work, by the way, is passing it all around the perimeter and trying to force it into Wiley. In Bruce's system it needs to be basically incidental and within the offense.

Way too much sloppy passing last night.

Had to be our worst game of the year. Lucky as hell to pull out a win.

And I agree, our boys need to spend some time practicing free throws. They played hard though.

One ref seemed rather "defiant" with his calls.

Wiley 5/7 and Okoro 8/9 were actually pretty good last night from the line. But yeah everybody else was horrible. Okoro is a hell of an athlete but he needs some serious work on his outside jumper.

It's not great but I thought I saw that at this point last year we were similarly bad or worse before improving steadily.

When Okoro develops his outside shot, and he will, the whole offense will change and be hard for anyone to stop. I just hope it happens before February.

Part of the problem is that the guys who get to the line usually aren't our purest shooters.

Austin had his man sealed in great position several times and they failed to pass to him or were way too late trying to get it to him. Austin also has mediocre athleticism and struggles with non perfect passes.
