Except he's a much better coach than Gus. He's the second best coach in the conference the moment he inks the contract. And he's the same age Saban was when he took over Bama, with a much better resume. I would love for the contract to be less, but what price would you put on Auburn's best 10 year stretch ever? Bc I really think that's would Bob Stoops would give us.

The most important piece in this coaching staff is Travis Williams and if Stoops does come, TW needs to stay. Especially if we want to keep Pappoe committed.

I agree Steele deserves to stay. However, the chances of a new coach keeping any staffers is extremely low. Gus refused to keep BVG even though BVG was only there a year and is highly respected in the coaching ranks.

And Josh Moon has now backtracked a little in one of his latest tweets he states "Let me clear this up: I don't play semantics. Coaches do Au and Stoops and that includes reps for both-have been talking for 2+ weeks. doesn't mean a deal is done. But the leak of this info means there are bad problems between people who matter at AU and AU's Head Coach"
