Yes, we already have a coach in his 50's that is laughing his arse to the bank with millions of dollars from Auburn money.

Y'all act like Stoops won Super Bowls.

How are you even arguing with people who want Stoops over Gus? Stoops is a proven winner and Gus is a mediocre coach who refuses to adapt. Hell the guy sent special teams out on 4th and 1 AND THREW A frickIN PASS TO THE KICKER

Stoops is the best possible hire we could make sans Dabo or Meyer. He might not ever bring a natty, while Sabans here at least but he gives us a legitimate chance the second he steps on campus. Like someone said, if it could be done in a timely manner recruiting wouldn't suffer and we probably land Haselwood to boot. The worst I could see Stoops doing is consistently winning 10 games and when have we ever done that? He would retire from Auburn leaving the program at it's highest prestige since, if not higher, than when Pat Dye was the coach and he would leave us poised to make another great hire. Stoops is exactly what Auburn needs to actually become a powerhouse and not a flash in the pan once or twice a decade team we're so accustomed to. The ones of you acting like Stoops isn't good enough are just absolute idiots. 10 years 75 mil guaranteed is scary and I would love for the deal to be less than that, but that risk feels a whole lot better than hiring Neal Brown or Bill Clark. Stoops would come in and immediately be the second best coach in the conference and he will perform much closer to that contract than Jimbo ever will.

Granted it's all speculation, I would be shocked and elated if we can Gus and hire Stoops.

He won 10 conference championships. Gus goes to the championship game last season and market rate morons here were gleeful he got $49 million.

I really don't get how any Auburn fan could criticize anything Stoops has done. 10+ wins 13 times. 10 conference championships. He's won more by himself than Auburn has as a program lmao. Some of y'all need to get real.

I would love it, but zero chance in hell Bob comes to AU. Can't believe everyone is all lathered up over this BS rumor.

We have reached UT/Gruden levels now.

Y'all give this guy 10 years at $80M and you're asking for the exact same situation that we're in now with Gus.

You cannot keep giving these coaches this kind of money or the program takes a huge hit financially/on the field.

Doubt Bobby Stoops turns down a 100 million dollar contract from Auburn.

If we do how him, we need to stipulate that his sorry arse brother is not allowed on the staff.

I just read his twitter page and he's added this for those who aren't following his twitter

"Here's what I can tell you re:Bob Stoops/Auburn: A meeting took place a few weeks ago. It involved Stoops and at least two AU powerbrokers it went unexpectedly well."

"From there, the task has been building support for dumping serious cash to fire Malzahn. Those running this show do not believe they will have to pay the entire buyout. Remember I reported a few weeks of a plan to have the contract invalidated. That's still on the table"

"After seeing the gap between AU and UGA and UA, there is now much more momentum behind this effort. and really, it all hinges on Stoops agreeing to terms that AU can afford. if so bye-bye Gus."

He's already increased his Twitter followers by 10% today.

I don't understand why Josh Moon would be the guy to break this. I think he's playing folks.
